INTRODUCTIONMarketing is a process that is concerned with activities such as promotion, advertisement,after sales etc. It is aimed at gaining the attention of people towards the products sold byorganisation in market place. There are some elements which are essential in conductingmarketing activities within the organisations. The present report is based on Beauty Giant whichis a cosmetics company having approx. 50 branches in United Kingdom. This report consists ofrole of marketing and link with other business units. Furthermore, the importance of marketingmix is given to understand the objectives related to marketing activities. Along with this, amarketing plan is developed to achieve desired objectives.PART I)Marketing is the collection of various tasks with the help of which different companiesare able to perform their promotional activities in an effective manner. With this, an organisationcan explore, create as well as supply value in order to satisfy the wants of the customers inmarket (Beall and et. al., 2012). It is aimed at identification of unfulfilled desires and needs oftarget market with a view to meet them and gain satisfaction from people. Marketing is definedas an important function for all organisations because it can help in promoting and selling goodsand services by creating awareness among people. It is related to the management process whichincludes anticipation, identification and satisfaction of customer’s desires. Marketing isdescribed as the overall activities which can be a set of processes for creating, communication,delivering and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners and societyat large.MARKETING CONCEPT The concept of marketing can be defined as the philosophy where firms can be analysedthe needs of their customers and then make decisions to satisfy those needs and it will be betterthan regarding to competition. The termmarketing mix consists of different types of marketing plans that will be executed as per businessstrategy. It mainly considers 4Ps such as product, price, placement and promotion. It is a mixedgroup of marketing variables that can control of activities of company as per target customergroup. Furthermore, it constitutes the significant tools of marketing which act as appropriatefactors to show impact on products of company. 1) Key roles and responsibilities of the marketing functionIn corporate scenario, the main role of marketing is to promote the business and missionof organisation, as well as to sell and promote their goods. In this regards, companies have takenup a number of actions which consists of advertising, public relations, promotional activities etc.These can help to achieve the overall objectives and goals in an effective manner. It isconsidered as a procedure which can help in developing adequate and relevant value forcustomer, thereby creating an effective relationship to fulfil the needs of customers. There are a number of roles and responsibilities of marketing that are crucial and thusneed to be understood so that suitable knowledge could be gained about various fluctuations inmarket. Some of these are discussed as follows:- Gathering and analysing market information– This particular function has been used bythe company to collect information regarding customers and knowing about their tastes andpreferences.
