Self actualization needs:It includes that what an individual doing and feel which should be actually meant to do. As workers of JD Stores provides a chance to their workers as they have to realise actual requirements so that they can get satisfied. Advantages: This theory of motivation is easy and simple to use and understand and it is most effective also because it emphasised on all the needs of individual(Renninger, 2015). It is considered mainly human nature or works towards the fulfilment of individual's requirements as per the demand of humans and satisfied them appropriately. Limitations: It is ineffective because all individual's does not think or want in a same manner as their requirements or priorities are different from each other so it is not suitable for all at a same time. It is also difficult to measure that satisfaction of all employees are same or not or because human minds can not be predicted by others easily. Herzberg theory that will help for Jack Discount Stores. This is also known as two factor theory which depends on the main two factors that can set motivational influences at the workplace. This theory was developed in 1959 by the Fredrick Herzberg (Herzberg’s Motivation Theory – Two Factor Theory, 2018).The company Tesco will use this theory for the management of JD stores as by leveraging this theory they able to get best performance from the team members. It is called as content theory which deals with the varied range of situations of a company. These two factors are further discussed as follows:
(Source: Herzberg two factor theory, 2018) Motivating factors:These factors are related to the employee satisfaction that involves several factors through which workers get motivated and satisfied. It includes recognition, achievements, growth, responsibility, work for itself and advancement as well which may have huge impact on the business and workers growth and development. As more as workers get motivated that much their performance will have improved which displays productivity rising. Hygiene factor:These factors does not satisfied their workers but the absence of these will be cause workers to work less hard because it is not available at actual job but surrounds the job.Itinvolvesworkingconditions, policies, relationships, salary, supervision, security, remuneration etc. that is indirectly lead the performance of employees(Lepper, 2015). Advantages: Through Herzberg theory of motivation JD stores can able to emphasise on the issues of employees and reduced them by facilitating friendly environment, good salary and so on (Amabile, 2016).
This theory emphasise on motivation that comes from the intrinsic factor of workers for this company can develop their working conditions so that employees feel motivated. Limitations: The major disadvantage of this theory is that it is not essential that motivated or satisfied employees will lead towards the high productivity and profitability. This is also avoids external factors which plays an important role in real for a company that can completely result in occurrence of problems. CONCLUSION Itcanbeconcludedfromtheabovereportthatallcompaniesneedtobeused motivational theories in order to get motivated employees. For this they adopts Maslow's and Herzberg theory of motivation that leads the employees performance along with the growth and development of individual as well as organisation.
