INTRODUCTION
Employee retention is one of the crucial processes in which workers of an enterprise
encourage to remain for longer period. In this, strategies in relation to employees’ retention are
important as it is helpful to create a positive working environment (Belias and et. al., 2015). To
cope up with number of policies that has been addressed where focus is to deal with various
needs of employees so that there can be enhancement in job satisfaction of employees.
The present report is based on number of factors, which can help to maintain employee’s
retention in the hospitality industry. In this, business activities of Hotel Hilton London, UK will
be considered. Furthermore, hospitality industry is an establishment, which offers excellent
services and good experience to customers. It is a competitive sector in which employees have
new challenges every day to deal with, so that they are able to get better position. Thus, it can be
true to say that employee's retention is one of the most overlooked aspects as it is growth
oriented.

1.1 Formulation and recording of possible research outline specification.
The following research is based on business activities of Hotel Hilton London, UK. The
main purpose is to maintain employee's retention within hospitality industry so that long-term
growth of an enterprise can be maintained. It is helpful to maintain economic balance in several
aspects like job safety, additional profits and extra spending on goods and services (Chang and
et.al., 2015).
In addition to this, attracting, engaging and motivating employee's to produce quality
results can lead to good customers’ satisfaction. In this, well-trained and engaged staffs have
substantial influence on customers’ satisfaction. It is essential to maintain employee retention in
the hospitality industry as workers used to leave the organisation due to factors as job
dissatisfaction, lack of training and development, and ineffectual supervisor assistant and
feedback. Moreover, effective retention strategies will help to cope up with it and enhance
profitability to an enterprise.

Rational Analysis- The main purpose behind selecting this topic is to identify the core
strategies, which help to maintain retention of employees. It is needed to be done because
productive and talented employees of an enterprise are encouraged to stay longer period. The
main motive of hospitality industry is to provide excellent services to customers so that quality
services can be delivered to customers (Devonish, 2013.). The enterprise is needed to focus on
number of strategies of employee retention so that effective steps can be taken towards it.
1.3 Description on Research Project Specification
To frame effective research, it is essential that all methods that include techniques,
methods and relevant approaches are needed to be taken into consideration.
There are number of methodologies that have been discussed below:
Research philosophy- This enables to determine appropriate sources through which specific
information can be gathered. Thus, there are two types of philosophies as positivism and
interpretvitism. To carry out the research, investigator will have use of combination of both
philosophies. Moreover, focus is needed to be given on aims and objectives that are already set.

Research design- It enables to carry research in systematic and effective manner. Thus, these are
of three types such as experimental, descriptive and exploratory. Among this, descriptive
research design will be carried out to determine theories related to research topic.
Research approach- In this, two approaches are given as inductive and deductive. In this,
Inductive theory works to develop the aim of the data, which has been gathered. On the other
side, deductive aims at testing the theory related to research topic. In this, research will make use
of Inductive approach technique ( Dombrowski and Mielke 2013).
Data collection- It will be carried out with primary as well secondary method. In order to make
it effective, the researcher will use both methods. Under this, primary method will be carried out

will be conducted by tables, graph etc.

essential to train and retain employees so profitability of an enterprise can be sustained for longer
period. In this term, it can be said that retaining employees mean to provide job satisfaction to
employees. In contrary to, Goyal, (2015) states that to have improvement in employee retention
involves focussing on areas as recruitment, selection, rewards, training and benefits etc. As per
the view of Inversi and et.al., (2017), it has been stated that impressive training and equal pay to
each employee will motivate individual to perform their activities effectively.

In this, it can be stated that employees should be satisfied in terms to each benefits
received by employees so that they are able to perform its work effectively. According to

have effective identification of lacking areas. In this, Frederiksen, (2015) states that there must
have effective communication between supervisors and managers so that there can be
improvement in job satisfaction. In this, with equal pay and distribution, employees’ satisfaction
can be improvised . In contrary to, Good and Cooper, (2016) states that to maintain economic
balance in several aspects like job safety, additional profits and extra spending on goods and
services.

strategies
In this, need and wants of employees is need to be cleared so that there can be
improvement in existing retention strategies and new plan of actions can be framed out.

Research philosophy- It is comprises of belief that collection and analysis of data. Research
philosophy are mainly of four types as are positivism, realism, pragmatism and interpretivism. In
order to carry out the present research positivism and interpretivism philosophies are need to be
used. Thus, hotel Hilton will make the use of combination of both and it provides depth
understanding about knowledge and factual information through observation. In positivism
research, the role of researcher is limited to interpretation and collection of data. On other hand,
interpretivism philosophies will be used in terms to determine the elements of study.
Research approach- It encompasses the plan for the procedures that each thing is need to be
carried out effectively. In addition to this, there are two kind of research approach as are
inductive as well as deductive. It can be called as top down approach. Inductive approach can be
termed out as to move from specific observation to broad generalisation. In this present
assignment, inductive approach will be taken. This kind of specific observations are helpful in
terms to detecting the patterns and regularities (Good and Cooper, 2016.).
