screen and it will sold in Auditorium, parks and stadium. In the respect of attain needs of
company there is set ll principles regarding to project. With the help of these principles company
has prepared strategic goals ans also set operational activities . These have been discussed below:
Six sigma
It is a quality control methodology which is developed in 1986 and applied for data
driven for analysis to different defects and mistakes in and process. Six sigma emphasizes cycle
time improvement while at the same time reducing manufacturing defects to a level of no more
than 3.4 occurrences per million units or events. In general way, the system is a method to work
faster with lesser mistakes (Gunasekaran and Ngai, 2012). Various principles of operational
management regrading steps of six sigma are mentioned below:
Define – It is the first step of six sigma which is defined about the need and wants of the
customers. The methodology provides accurate direction to complete this stage and the
company of Hotpoint evaluate of strategy of the market. The strategy helps to target
customer and fulfil their demands.

for reduce all problems and issues in the manner of manufacturing. In this stage
operational manager of Hotpoint to fulfil all demands of every individual person.
It is a core tool which is used in the new product development. When Hotpoint can apply
this strategy for develop 58 inches TV for their customers who is related to stadium and
auditorium. It will help to produce model without any error and highest precision possible. In the
TV contain highly accurate work modules as well as high definition resolution from the buyers
perspectives. It will develop different from other TV which is helping to attract customer and
increase production. This concept will apply for new product which is related to high quality
production, based on customer requirement. The application of this project have a negative on
the Hotpoint's TV dream as it may result in time and cost overruns due to the fact that the
principle will approval for internal quality control measure which is costly and it will affect to
creativity as well as innovation process. Thus, Hotpoint would use those resources which is
costly but there is not and defect regarding to quality.
Lean principle
The lean principle is provided advantage to operational manager of Hotpoint, it provides
innovative and new idea for maintain and modify the quality of production process. The lean
principle is evaluating five steps, these are identify value, create flow, establish pull, define value
and pursuit perfection(Jacobs, Chase and Lummus, 2014). These steps helps to make and launch
new product in particular market segment. The Hotpoint company wants to launching new
television in 58 inches in particular market. There is discussed about the five steps - Identify value - First step of lean principle, define the value of Hotpoint company which

objective of company not only enhance value stream but also attract customers. In hence, there is
low margin and the principle not correctly guide about to project development. Sometimes it will
misguide for process activities as a result chances of failure of project. If Hotpoint can adopt this
strategy so they have to maintain stock level of 40000 units of television models. For
implementation of successful plan in Hotpoint, there is selected six sigma methodology for
decrease defects and improves precision at the launching of product.
Principle of operation management Reality – This principle of operation management focus on the different solution which
are related to problems. This principle in real life solve problem without any tool and

TASK 4
P4 Review of effectiveness of PLC application in the given project
In the Hotpoint company, use of different strategies and methods which helps in project
life cycle to make effective. PLC develop effectiveness as well efficiency for the small and big
size project. Basically companies follow the two methods which help them to identify the
effectiveness of specific project at a particular time period (Ramasesh, and Browning, 2014).
Two methods for the identification of effectiveness such as Agile model and Water fall model
are as follow:
Agile model: It is a methodology or documenting software which is based on various
practices. It a combination of different principles and values that is applied by those
organisations which deals in software development project. Basically this model focus on
customer satisfaction and adaptability of process which provide fast delivery of software
to their clients. Agile model use for smaller duration of project which implement very
fast and product development process provide less priority on this kind of project.
Water fall model: This model is design in a downward direction which show the
progress of project like waterfall goes down but move further continuously. This model
includes the sequential phases such as requirement, system design, implementation,
deployment of system etc (Subramanian and Ramanathan, 2012). The particular project
effected by this concept because it provides systematic processing to execute project.
Requirement – It is a first step which is described and understand of design of product
according to customer needs and wants.
Product design – In this step apply design of product which is suitable and make effective
for selling in market.
Implementation – After that implement design according to customer requirement. If
there is coming any problem so it is solved from future perspective.
Integration and testing – There is necessary to test of every product which is launched
and the Hotpoint company take feedback about the TV from customer any others.
Deployment of system – There is apply necessary development which is need to apply on
TV product.
Maintenance – It is a last stage where manager of Hotpoint improves performance of the
product (Turner, 2014).

Performance Measurement -
Milestone – There is achieve approx 80% sales of revenues
Targets – For the project there is target common audience
Deliverables – Better vision, large screen and modern technology
Benchmarks – Colour, clarity, vision, smoothness
Key performance Indicator – Sales revenue, Order of products, Market type
Positive Aspect – There is mentioned positive aspect of this project, it will will to
estimate of future sales and growth of the project. PLC will help to planning about product life
and with the help of this take appropriate decision.
Negative aspect – There are described different negative aspect of the particular project,
PLC is helpful but some time it will not working properly for future perspective.
Impact of project – The project life cycle can influence on particular project because it
will help to determine about project launching. With the help of PLC take initiative decisions and
fulfil all requirements for achieve goals and objectives.
Different methodology utilise for the large and small scale project
Methodology Small scale large scale
Six sigma To conduct this project at small
level required to selected labelling
that support to deduct cost within
company. In respective company
manager categorise the work
according to their skills. As a result
they work effectively without any
error.
In the context of large project apply
six sigma to conduct project in
respect to arrange different
activities of project with sharp
mind. As a result it improve
productivity as well as profitability
as per the customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, this method help to
deduct wastages and proper utilise
resources.
Lean principle The scenario of small project such
as packaging company concentrate
on the unnecessary cost and make
activity in suitable way.
While large scale large size of
business are needed to conducted
and managed activity for new
product. In Hotspoint manage take
effective decision as per the budget.

Conclusion
It has been concluded that all theories and models can be implemented on small and
medium size organization in order to attain their goals and objectives of company. Project life
cycle can impact on project launching in bot manner – positive and negative manner.
