influenced by the significant range of the factors from the soil type to the town location. The
pipelines are made up from flat plates of steel those are heated, shaped and welded in a well
manner. In addition to this, before the transfer of any gas through the pipeline, the pipelines are
to be tested well. In order to improve the business activities and design structure the three
operational criteria those ought to be maintained include aggregate planning and maintenance,
Forecasting and facility layout development and production and inventory control management.
Considering the requirement of the consumers, planning and maintenance aggregation should be
done and finalized as well. In addition to this, at the very initial phase, the stages those are
necessary for making electronic growth of the system should also be considered. Therefore,
based on the requirement of the consumers, the operational management skills are needed to be
grown by within the industrial workers defining from the planning and maintenance program.
Again in the very initial phase of construction of gas pipelines the route of gas
transmission must be survey accordingly. It will help the project manager and the operational
head of the industry, to get to know more about the gas pipeline industry of Australia. The
transmission pipelines could range and length between hundreds of kilometers and even it could

analysis pattern and selection of proper design approaches are needed to be considered by the
topic researcher. In order to acknowledge different kinds of ideas and thoughts those are required
to complete the solution the research design approach which is needed is the exploratory design
approach. The explanatory research design helps the researchers to describe the occurrences of
different events or incidents and the corresponding effect of the events. The penetration details of
the research design will become completely limited due to lack of mere explanation of the cause
and effect relationship. On the other hand, the descriptive design approach helps the researcher to
gain details as to state occurrence of the details and could also provide accurate details of the
design.
In order to develop the research design approach it is necessary for the researchers to
consider the strength and limitation of all of these approaches. Based on the research topic, the
most suitable design approach should be selected by the designer. Among three of these design
approaches the two most suitable design approaches ate explanatory and descriptive design
approach. The advantages and disadvantages of explanatory and descriptive research design are
as follows:
Advantages: With the help of explanatory design approach the researcher will be able to
increase their understanding on the need of operational management in gas pipelines industry of
Australia. Though, the design is a little costly but it is useful to test the concept clearly. In
addition to this, it helps to assist the researchers with efficiency, flexibility towards the data
sources. In order to reach the goal of the decision makers different possible ways are there could
be reached accordingly. It helps to serve better conclusion with strategic planning as well.

Disadvantages: The areas of research problems cannot be verified with the help of the
descriptive design. In addition to this, due to observational nature this particular study details or
research design is not repeatable.

Different research design approaches are there such as experimental, quasi experiment,
correlation, ethnography etc. After understanding the details of the research design approaches it
is defined that quasi experiment is the most effective and beneficial research design approach for
the understanding the details of operational management of gas pipelines industry of Australia is
the quasi experiment, It helps the researchers to estimate the casual impact of the intervention
and the control groups as well. Even at the baseline these components could be compared to each
other.

a) After considering the research area of topic, it has been determined that, two different
variables of interest are there such as correlation method and experimental method. In the basics
study area, it has been defined that, all the independent variables affect the dependent variables
directly.
It has been defined that, in most of the times the experimental studies are difficult are
difficult to run. Considering this particular outline of experiment it is defined that, though the
experiment study is mush expensive in nature but this could control the experiment properly.
Both of these studies are feasible in nature.
b) During the development of the process design approach the researchers are required to
follow certain ethical code of conduct. With the help of ethical code of conduct the researchers
would be able to identify the right and wrong set of behaviors of the employees. For
understanding the details analysis of the research work it is necessary for the research developers

to take the help of standard ethical approaches. For this particular research study the ethical
perspectives are as follows:
Application of data: In order to understand the current trends of operational
management of gas pipelines industry in Australia, the information could be collected easily. In
order to keep the application completely academic in nature it is necessary for the researchers
avoid the commercial application restricted.
