INTRODUCTIONOrganisation behaviour can be defined as the study of the behaviour of an employee in acompany. it is the study of the behaviour of the employees and the way if interacting with eachother in the organisation, interacting with the organisation. Organisational behaviour assists themanagement in creating more efficient business environment for their employees. The presentreport will help in understanding the importance of organisational culture and behaviour in BBCin order to improve the efficiency of the business performance. the present study will help inunderstanding the organisational culture, power and politics that may affect the performance ofthe employee and the overall team. Further, the report will help in understanding differentcontent and process theory of motivation and different techniques of motivation. Moreover, thereport will discuss different characteristics that an effective team posses and the difference in theineffective team. Furthermore, the report will help in understanding different concepts andphilosophies of the organisation behaviour in different organisational situation.TASK 1a). Analysing how the culture, politics and power of an organisation can influence individual andteam behaviour and performance.Organisational Culture:Each company has various culture which helps in defining a set of rules and the way ofinteracting with each other and with the company. The theory of Charles Handy, Handy’s modelor organisational culture can well defined the culture in organisation. According to the Handy’smodel, there are 4 types of culture in an organisation.Power culture: the organisation where some specific employees are having the power in theorganisation are said to be the power culture. they are assigned to this special power on the basisof their performance or the qualification (Mohr, Young and Burgess, 2012). they are the maindecision maker in the company. Because of the power culture, employees has to follow theinstruction strictly. The employees feels and freedom to express their view and ideas. It canaffect their performance and hinder the efficient productivity of the teamTask culture: in such work culture, the team is being prepared in order to perform a specific taskor in order to solve a critical problem. in such organisation, the employees with common skills,interest, experience in order to achieve a common organisational goals.1

Role culture: It is a culture, where employees are delegating the roles and responsibilitiesaccording to their skills, specialization and educational qualification. It helps the company totake out the best from the employees(Carlström and Ekman, 2012). Employees feel motivated inworking in such culture.Person culture: The organisations where the employees of company feel more superior tothemselves in front of the organisation are following person culture. In such culture, employeesfeels that they are important than the organisation. Employee’s works for accomplishing theirpersonal goals and not for the organisation.Organisational Politics: Political culture in the organisation is happens with the use of the power and networkingwhich helps in some kind of benefits or power in the organisation (Cadden, Marshall and Cao,2013). Sometimes, it can be considered to be good in having to have a political culture in anorganisation as it helps in increasing the efficiency of the employees. Politics helps in makingclear policies and effective chain of commands that is not so possible in hierarchy culture.Employees using negative politics like involving in dishonesty and the unethical behaviour thatcan results in decreasing in personal performance and affect the overall productivity in thecompany.Organisational power:As discussed earlier in power culture, power in an organisation is when some individualare assigned specific power in hand of few people. They are authorised for making decision andpower in order to delegate the task and responsibilities to other employees. Power culture in anorganisation is important, where the employees misuses their power for motivating otheremployees and instruct them in order to perform their job in order to achieve the goals of theorganisation. In contrary to that, negative power will leads to threatening the employees thatleads to negative impact on the performance of the employees.TASK 2a). Explaining the importance of content and process motivational theory in achieving individualand team performance.It is essential of having an motivated employee order to increase the performance level ofan employee (Nuttin, 2014). It is the factor which helps in increasing the willingness of theemployee in order to achieve their best efforts in performance. There are various theories of2
