INTRODUCTIONOrganisational behaviour refers to the study conducted in order to gain an insight into thebehavioural characteristics of individuals and groups that are a part of the organisation. Thisprocess assists the human resource department of a company to formulate a positive and healthyenvironment across organisational premises so as to motivate employees to deliver performanceto the best of their potential (Avey, Palanski and Walumbwa, 2011). The following report isbased on A M (Holdings) Limited which is an entity that is engaged in supply of laminatedcarton board as well as confectionery foil within United Kingdom. This assignment will gain aninsight into the influence of culture, politics and power upon employees' performance andproductivity. Also, content and process motivational theories will describe the way in whichmotivation helps to boost the performance of employees and team. Lastly, concepts andphilosophies of organisational behaviour are discussed on the basis of different situations whichoccur at workplace. LO 1P1. Impact of organisation's culture, politics and power on individual, team behaviour andperformanceOrganisational behaviour determines the manner in which individuals and team interactwithin an enterprise. The prime responsibility of HR department in an organisation is to allot theroles and duties to staff as per their educational and professional background as well as theirskills to deliver performance. In this regard, HR manager of A M (Holdings) Limited ensuresthat a positive working atmosphere is created which enables individuals and teams to deliverperformance without any possibility of conflicts. It is ascertained that the behaviour andperformance of individuals and teams are affected by organisational power, culture and politicsin a significant manner (Boje, Burnes and Hassard, 2011) . This is discussed in context of A M(Holdings) Limited as follows:- CultureThis can be defined as the composition of values, beliefs, traditions, customs andpractices prevailing within an organisation . With regards to A M (Holdings) Limited, the HRmanager of this entity is undertaking steps to build a positive and optimistic work culture. When1

the organisational culture is positive, it tends to affect the behavioural characteristics of anindividuals strongly and persuade them to deliver optimum performance which assists inachievement of organisational objectives within a timely manner. Further, once staff is motivatedto perform well, it tends to enhance the overall team performance and ensures maximum outputout of group efforts. There are four types of culture that can be found within an enterprise andthese are defined below along with their impact upon individuals and teams:-Role culture: This culture can be said to be a resemblance of functional structure wheremanager of the company allots roles and responsibilities to subordinates as per their skills,knowledge and competence (Laforet, 2011). In this regard, when manager of AM (Holdings)implements this culture, this tends to motivate the employees as they are assigned tasks as pertheir expertise. Thus they perform by fully utilising their skills and experience and contributetowards the achievement of organisational goals. Also, role culture facilitates coordination andcooperation amidst the teams as the duties and accountability of each individual is clearlyspecified.Task culture: Within this culture, a number of teams are created which assist in resolvingconflicts within the organisational premises. With regards to AM (Holdings) Limited, managerof this entity focus upon formulation of teams as approvalper the issues determined in thecompany. When enterprise is willing to undertake steps that assists in resolution of personal orprofessional conflicts among employees, this tends to rise their motivational level and theydeliver a better performance so as to contribute towards achievement of organisational goals.Person culture: In this organisational culture, manages mainly focus upon enhancing theskills and competence of employees of company.
