INTRODUCTION
People and organisation are the two different collective forms that compensate each other
in order to make more effective outcomes that help to gain higher advantage within the limited
period of time. organisation can’t get developed without the contribution or on the same people
also need the organisation as from where they could imply their different strategy in order to
achieve better and effective outcomes (Dawson, 2018). This report is based on the Farmfoods
that is the British frozen food chain supermarket that is based on Cumbernauld, Scotland. This
report includes the different characteristic of an effective work group, retention strategy,
importance of performance appraisal and the different type of organisational culture.

TASK 1
What are the characteristic of an effective work group
An effective teamwork creates better collaboration among all actions and activities of an
organisation that leads management to gain top position in market. This refers that better
chemistry among employees makes a great team with learn and adopts similar characteristic. It
also leads to make an business more successful through increasing overall productivity for
organisation. Some effective characteristic for team group is as follow:
Clear direction- There are various complex task are managed by Farmfoods and to
manage them all it is essential to recruit trained and skilled employees. So the first
characteristic that is used by management is to manage and complete work through
making and guiding clear direction to all employees. This results all employees perform
their work within a same direction (De Sousa Sabbagha, 2018). From the perspective of
fast foods it is used by team leader to prepare right products by demonstrating simple and
clear direction in order to match goods with customer requirements.
Open and honest communication- The term communication is a key that work as
foundation for completing all work in an effective manner by generating chemistry
between all team members. Moreover, communication plays an essential role that is
boosting performance of team members by providing right and accurate information to all
individuals. Active Listening and transferring right information are key aspects for
farmfoods which is improving product quality. This also provided reasons to make a
