INTRODUCTION Personal and professional development plan is a method which aids a supervisor to set outthe various goals, strategies and learning and training outcomes. The following plan shouldclearly determine the time frame, activities in order to defined aim and dates of conducting thespecific meeting with the supervisor. Union Chimique Belge (USB) is a multinationalpharmaceutical company headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. It is a company with the revenuegeneration of about £3.3 billion by the end of the year 2014. The following report is going todepict about the different methods of the learning which in turn will aid to identify the types oflearning style which helps to achieve the organization objective. In this report approaches andbenefits of self managed learning are discussed. At last different type of work based problem andits relative solution are identified. TASK 1Self managed learning is the one of the best way to make the individual present in theorganization in order to make them learn everything. Learning will be effective only when anindividual knows the objective of learning (Ali and Panther, 2008). Self managed teach also aidthe individuals to come up with the new ideas, thoughts and strategy in order to overcomevarious problems and achieve the desired goals. Self managed learning also assist the individualto improve their knowledge and skills and learn various techniques which will help an individualto enhance its personal and professional life. Thus, some of the approaches which company canconsider in order enhancing its employee’s knowledge are as follow:-Seminars and Conferences: - It is one of the best ways of self managed learning. Thisapproached aid the individual to enhance its personal and professional skills by shares theirideas, thoughts and experiences. Internet: - By conducting an internet surfing an individual can get knowledge fromdifferent website. This in turn will aid the individual to deepen his and other co-workersknowledge by share the thoughts learned by him (Alsup, 2006). Different type of learning style helps the individual to learn deeply about the various topics.Some use auditory style for learning, in which an individual learn more properly by listening tothe things than that of reading it. Similarly, some use Visual style of learning, in which anindividual learn more properly by watching the things like charts, graphs, diagrams and so on.1

Moreover some of the other style which an individual uses to learn are analytic, global, Tactileand kinesthetic. Various learning and development methods which I as a Human Resource manager ofUCB Company will use in order to enhance the personal and professional skills are selfevaluation and self learning (Brinkerhoff, 2006). In case of self evaluation SWOT analysis havebeen made in order to find out the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats available to theindividual in order to enhance the skills and knowledge. Therefore, in order to develop the individual and encourage lifelong learning in personaland professional manner I will recommend the performance evaluation and self managedlearning method. Because performance evaluation will aid the company and individual to knowabout the work performed by him and where he is lacking behind from others. This in turn willcreate the competition among the individual .increased competition will increase the level ofproductivity of the individual (Gray, 2005). Similarly, another method which an organization canuse is self learning. Self learning will aid the individual to share their ideas, thoughts with theother people. This in turn will build up the confidence among the individual to speak in a publicand enhance its lifelong personal and professional skills.Therefore, these are some of the methods which a human resource manager can use inorder to enhance the personal and professional skills and knowledge of the every individualperson present in the organization. Self managed learning not only aid the individual but it help the organization as awhole. Benefits of self managed learning to an individual are; it will help an individual toenhance its skills and knowledge (Hunter, Laursen and Seymour, 2007). Self learning will builtup the confident level of the individual to speak in public. It wills also the individual to share itsideas, thoughts and experiences with the company to solve various problems. Self learns also aidthe individual to mold itself according to the use of the technology. Similarly, self managed learning also assist the organization to achieve its desiredtarget. In lieu of which organization make an efforts to enhancing the knowledge and skills of theindividuals by making them knowing about the actual cause of learning. Increased skills andknowledge of the individual will help the organization to easily implement the various changeswhich will be easily adopted by the individual like change in the technology, working methods2
