INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development are two major aspects which helps an individual
to gain growth in career and academic life (Aldoshina and Artamonova, 2021) . It is ethical duty
and role of an individual to develop personal and professional dimensions in order to gain
competitive advantage in real life. The practice of personal and professional development helps
an individual to develop social and ethical values. The professional development should be
carried out by an individual by keeping in mind effective measures and techniques. In this report
development of a relationship with others is explained along with different aspects of decision
making. The report also includes description of relationship with self in order to develop
awareness and emotional intelligence. This project also includes small development plan in order
to achieve major development based objectives in real life. The project includes development of
personal development plan in order to gain effective advantage in life.

Development of relationship with self including enhancement of self awareness and emotional
intelligence
The relationship with self should be developed by a person in order to create best suitable
personality. Self awareness and emotional intelligence should be developed in an advanced
manner to increase mental strength. The overall mental ability of an individual is also dependent
upon the level of emotional intelligence and self awareness. I am having good emotional
intelligence which helps me understanding critical aspects of career and academic life.
Emotional intelligence also supports me in development of social connections and to analyse
problems in a precise manner (Blanton, Broemmel and Rigell, 2020) . The relationship with self
is essential to be developed in a set period of time to achieve major milestones in career related
field. I am self aware about my strengths and weakness which will be impacting on my career
field. It is also one of the major role and responsibility of an individual to focus on development
of self awareness in order to develop competency edge . I am also self aware about my ethical
duties which will help me to develop social values and norms. In my opinion, it is essential for a
person to focus on develop emotional intelligence in a professional manner for focused growth.
Self-awareness is a ability of a person to focus on themself and their action, emotions and
thoughts and also does not align it to internal standards. A person who is highly self aware can
evaluate their objectives with themselves, can manage their emotions and also align their
behaviour with their values. A self aware person is able to interpret their feelings, action as well
as objectives. Development is this ability is important for me as it allow me to get growth, make
me more effective and also allow me to accept changes (Dutton, 2018). There are basically two
types of self awareness including public self awareness and private self awareness. Public self-
awareness is one in which how I appear to others as a person is conscious about this factor and is
more likely to adopt social norms and behave in a manner which are socially acceptable. There
are various benefits of this type of awareness but it make a person more self consciousness.
Private self awareness is one which make a person to be able to notice as well as reflect internal
state. It is a self awareness that made me introspective an allow me to approach to different
feelings and actions out of curiosity. I am self aware person that provide me power to influence
others. It assist me to made different decision and also provide me more confidence that allow

me to communicate with clear intentions and also with clarity. It is also important for me to
understand thing in effective manner and also from different perspectives. It make me from from
biases and also from assumptions (Hedlund, 2022) . Emotional intelligence can be described as
ability of a person to perceive, understand, manage, use as well as handle different emotions.
There are some people who has high emotional intelligence who can recognise their emotion as
well as other, discern between different feelings, use different emotional information in order to
think and behave, also able to adjust emotions as per environment. It is a ability of a person that
provide capacity to a person to be self aware, control as well as express their emotion and it also
allow them to handle different interpersonal relationship empathetically and judiciously. It
includes main five components like self awareness, motivation, self regulation, social skills and
empathy. It is an essential skill that allow a person to control their emotions. It is a skills that
allow me to be able for team work as people who has control over their emotions can work in
good manner and can trust each other (Hinojosa-Pareja and García-Cano, 2020) This skills also
allow me to listen to other suggestion in positive manner and also to respond it effective manner.
I am able to accept changes as it allow me to deal with new things that take place in
environment. People does not take change in positive manner due to their negative attitude but it
is a skill that allow a person to deal with things in positive manner and also inspire team
members in same manner. It also allow me to handle a conversation effectively and avoid
situation of conflict. It is a skills that helps me at workplace as it is essential for me to avoid
conflicts in team.
Both emotional intelligence and self-awareness play an important role in the development of an
individual. It is the necessary duty of a person to focus on enhancement of these skills in order to
lead the marketplace. All major institutions in the United Kingdom are dedicated to provide
solution to problems related with academic development. This will help the individuals to focus
more on their overall development which helps in increasing the competitive strength. All major
institutions should also perform major assessment of individuals in order to develop their
competitive strength. It is also one of the major role of an institution to develop testing of
students on major basis for their suitable growth.

Establishment of relationship with others along with improvement of relationship with other

I have learned several things related to development and formulation of effective
relationship with others for increasing growth opportunities. The relationship based focus and
approach will help me in increasing social values in relationship. This will create a major
improvement in knowledge of self as well as of others (Hui, Kwok and Ip, 2021). It is also a
major role and responsibility of a person to focus on different skills which are required to build
relationship with others. I will take into consideration case study of my project which was
given to us in academic life. The following points were kept in mind by me in order to complete
the project along with building relationship with my team members:
Communication skills- Communication skills are considered as an suitable medium
which is used by a person to exchange information. My communication skills are good
enough, that has made me a social and dynamic person (Khachatryan, 2020) There are
majorly two types of communication which includes written and oral skills. I generally
use verbal communication skills in order to perform and develop communication with
other people. The communication skills also helps a person to develop effective
relationship with colleagues and seniors. In the academic life, it is very much important
for a person to systematically lead the competition with help of communication skills.
Coordination skills- These are considered as major type of skills which helps an
individual to increase coordination. In order to develop effective coordination skills, it is
important role of a person to use information and technology. During the completion of
our project, we used smartphones and email as an medium to communicate with each
other. In order to increase the coordination skills, it is important for a person to focus on
development of communication skills. All major students in the academic life get
immense benefits with the help and support of coordination skills.
Critical thinking skills- The critical thinking skills are considered as major skills which
helped me management of different skills. During my project work, it was essential for
me to develop critical thinking skills which supported me in maintaining effective
relationship with different customers (Kondratyev, Kazakova and Kuznetsova, 2020) .
The critical thinking skills in academic life is also important in order to focus on

problems and their solving. In order to solve different problems related to academic and
social life, critical thinking skills play a major role.
Team management skills- These are the most important type of skills which helps in
management of a team. The team management also play a major role in development of
member's management for focused growth. In my project I used several techniques to
focus on team management, which helped me in completion of project. The management
of a team is the major task in order to complete a given assignment on time. Also the
team management skills are important for an individual in order to manage the workforce
with maximum efficiency. The leadership related theories and models are also useful in
management of different team members. Teams should be developed with the help of
democratic leadership style in order to develop focused approach at the marketplace.
Leadership skills- The leadership skills are most important for a person in order to
manage large number of team members. Leadership related operations helps a leader to
evaluate best practices using appropriate leadership style. The leadership skills include
application of democratic leadership style which facilitates decision making. I had used
democratic leadership style during my project which involved participation of all team
members (Kubyshko, Kruk and Fedotov, 2018). I am opposed to autocratic leadership
style as it ignores participation of different employees. This creates various issues and
challenges for the individuals in order to manage relationship with them. Leadership
skills are helpful for a person to professionally manage different teams with effective
measures. Leadership skills are to be build up in a set period of time in order to achieve
best advantage in different operations.

The SMART development plan to achieve various objectives
SMART Development Plan:
This development plan helps an individual in providing the guidance in the process of
setting the goal. For ensuring the goals of a person are reachable as well as clear, the objectives
should be more specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bounded (Kumaria, Bhola
and Orlinsky, 2018) . Such kind of development plan facilitates an individual in pushing further
and giving a sense of direction as well as also provide assistance in organising and reaching one's
goals. The SMART development plan is a major approach which is helpful in increasing the
competitive strength of an individual. All students should prepare SMART development in order
to develop strategic framework for future related goals development.
In this section, I have formulated an objective of developing my personality. In order to
develop my personality, I have made a SMART Development Plan that would help me in
improving my various aspects. With the help of this kind of development plan, I can get clarity
on the things that I actually want to do in my life. SMART Development Plan in order to develop
my personality is given as below:
Specific: As per this factor, I am having the objective of my personality development that would
help me in improving several skills such as communication skills, time management skills,
problem-solving skills and many more. This would also facilitate me in developing my
capabilities to do the tasks.
Measurable: According to this factor, I would measure my specific objectives of through
assessments which would be given by my teacher. On the basis of the assessment, I can measure
my performance that whether I am going in the right direction or not. I would develop my overall
personality within 2 months and for this, I would complete the assignments given by my teacher.
Along with it, I would also take personality development classes of 2 weeks.
Achievable: According to this factor, I will make a lot of efforts by joining personality
development classes. I would also watch online videos and join campaigns in order to develop
my teamwork skills (Pricope, 2018) I would complete my personality development classes in 2
weeks and after that I would join at least 5 campaigns that would help me in developing team
working skills and collaborative skills. After taking participation in these campaigns, I would
develop my writing and communication skills. For evolving writing skills, I would write content

on different topics for 2 weeks that involves my mind in thinking more concepts and would help
me in evolving my writing skills.
Realistic: This is another factor of SMART development plan and as per this factor I would be
developed with writing skills, team working skills, collaborative skills, communication skills,
etc. that would help me in achieving success in my career in an effective manner.
Time bounded: In this factor, I am defining the time frame in which I would be develop my
overall personality. I have set a period of 2 months in order to develop my overall personality.
How you have been monitoring your progress and achievements
I have monitored my progress and achievements in such a way that I had made a big
picture of my goals that are to be achieved and after that I had planned and organised my time in
achieving particular objectives. After organising the time, I had track the progress through the
assessments given by my teacher and made corrections wherever it required. In this way, I had
monitored my progress and win my small achievements in the way of developing my overall
personality. It is very much essential for a candidate in the academic and career based life to
determine different objectives and achieve them with develop effective approach. The progress
monitoring should be done with proper supervision and control in order to develop major
feedback and approach. In the recent times, monitoring and progress of a plan is developed with
support of information and technology(Salter and Rhodes, 2018) .. This helps an individual to
perform quick and accurate operations in a well defined manner. All major academic institutions
should follow ethical progress while implementation major practices related to progress and
achievements. The use of information and technology helps a person to perform accurate and
quick operations in order to lead the competition. The monitoring should be performed with the
help of good techniques and tools in order to achieve best results.
Summary related to personal and professional development practices
Personal and professional development practices are essential for a person in order to
develop career based approach. It is compulsory and necessary for an individual to continuously
perform practices on regular basis for the development of dynamic personality. All major
companies in recent times hire candidates with professionalism based qualities. It is also one of
the crucial role of a person to take support of teachers and professors in academic life for overall
personality development (Van Meer, 2019) . The personal development plan related practices
should be developed with effective focus and supervision for achievement of optimum results.
