INTRODUCTIONPersonal and professional development is a set of activities that are generallyimplemented and followed by the individuals working in the enterprise. This helps them topromote their personal level of abilities and skills present in them which eventually assist themanagement in achieving greater form of results. It is necessary that personnel should formulateand implement a particular plan of development in order to improve the present form of qualitiesand attributes for executing the entire form of functions and operations (Reinholz, 2015). In thatregard, the report is furnishing information about the importance, construction and implication ofpersonal professional plan in context of an individual employed in Travellodge Hotel. TASK 11.1 Evaluate approaches to self-managed learning Self managed learning can be define as the procedure through which one can make orhandle their own decisions or working instead of being managed by their supervisors. For beingself-managed an individual must have good soft skills. Self-managed learning programmes canbe conducted by the organizations to for development of staff in particular way. Theseprogrammes are framed in such a that one can how to manage and lead oneself. There arevarious approaches that expounds self-managed learning. They are stated below.Seminars and conferences:Seminar and conferences are consider as the best way tolearning. When people attend seminars and conferences they interact with each otherwhich leads to sharing ideas and experiences. It also aids to revamp their skills andpersonality by attending seminars and conferences (Lewis, 2004).Social networks: This is also a good way of self-managed learning approach as it helps toget socialize. There are different social networking site like Twitter, Facebook, G mailand Yahoo. Now a days, people use these sites to chat with others that helps in sharingideas and make them interactive.Internet:In today era internet has become the most important source of communication,surfing etc. There are various articles present over internet which are read by people. Inturns, that upgrade their level of knowledge and make them updated (Hughes andYoungson, 2009).

Travelodge hotel provides hospitality services to its customers. To remain competitive in thisfield of service, we need to become dynamic and get updated with the changes. For this we useseminars and internet, because it helps our employees to get in touch with latest ideas andrequirements.1.2 propose ways in which lifelong learning is personal and professionalLifelong learning is an on going process to learn personally that grants to the professionalcontext. One can improve his/her lifelong learning by evaluating strengths, weaknesses,opportunity and threats. Travelodge provides kind of services that requires changes time to time.We want our staff to become dynamic and can cope up with changes. To become dynamic it isvery important to keep learning. Our management team encourages employees to lifelonglearning for their betterment. Being a manager I support those employees who wish to studyfurther. My organization provide financial support to employees for their further studies. Inturns, it helps in encouraging lifelong learning. To motive and make employees learn the thingswe organize workshops for them which helps to set goals in future. Even, I requested to seniorauthorities to open a library by which employees can take benefits and learn things without anyproblems. We allow them extra time to study in the organization apart from work. It uplifts theirtrust towards the organization and make them integrated towards work. They feel overwhelmed by working with our company. To encourage their interest weconduct seminars and conferences, so that it helps an employee to get information and makeinteractive. Our organization always support employees for ongoing learning so that they feelmotivated and interested towards learning (McLeod, John and Julia, 2014). Even our companymotivates those employees too who has less interest in learning. By encouraging continuouslearning, leads to improve their performance as well as company's performance. As employeesare major responsible for the success of an organization. 1.3 Evaluate the benefits of self-management learning to the individual and organizationsSelf-managed learning is related with the people to take advantage of their own learningby them self. Being a manager of travelodge, I also use self-managed learning process. It helpedme a lot in different grounds in the organization. As a manager, I always need to work with ateam and I need to walk by taking everyone together. Self-managed learning helped me toexpand may knowledge and share with team members.
