INTRODUCTION
Personal skills audit is the best way for a person to determine their strengths and needs
to develop or improve in the future. It can be proven quite useful for individual to keep
themselves on career track mainly ambitious entrepreneurs and managers. This act is depend
on area of a company people are working in too and varies with several areas. The current
study is based on TUI which falls under category of leading Travel & Tourism Company in UK. It
will explain on-going professional development benefits for different stakeholder within
organization and employer expectation of skills as well as competencies within enterprises. This
report will describe own abilities, competences and skills for a particular job position and justify
learning concepts and approaches used for both personal & professional development process.
Furthermore, it will clarify development plan, job interview and strength & weakness of a
conducted interview process.

On-going professional development refers to procedure of tracking a documenting
knowledge, skills and experiences that individual gain. It is very important as it help to delivers
benefits to person, their profession. Continuing professional development is considered as
ongoing procedure of development, documenting and maintaining professional skills in effective
manner. It play vital role in career growth of employees and cater many benefits to them in term
of increasing their abilities and capabilities to work in TUI. It allow person to do their work even
better, up skill in technological advances that cater radically varied ways of working an chance
for individuals to change their overall career paths.

their business in effective manner. Its vision is to be an professional & inspiring partner that
support and initiates projects and innovative ideas.
In order to achieve set aims and objectives of organization professional employer expect
many things from existing workforce. They want effective competencies and appropriate skills
which is quite important and beneficial for TUI. There are following competences or abilities and
skills expected by professional employer in company
Communication-
It is one of the skills employer expect while working in well reputed company like TUI
from employees as it make person able to build good relation with their co-workers or team
members (Azmi and et.al., 2018). Most jobs needed a certain amount of verbal and written
communication with consumers and other candidates. Communication skills allow employees to

must be capable to manage time and accomplish day to day activities in effective manner
(Eldeen and et.al., 2018). By planning their time well people can complete certain amount of
work and deliver on time services to consumers. With this ability individual can accomplish more
in short time period which leads to more free time.
Team work abilities-
Along with above expectations of ability and skill employer expects this one as well. It
makes them capable to become creative person and allow working together on team with 5 to 8
members. It lets applicants build on talents of their group mates, while their strength may be
creative thinking, other person can be shine in company and planning which is very good for
everyone.
Problem solving-
Professional employer expect this skill because it help to when problems at workplace in
TUI arise and applicants is expected to do their best to solve them before obtaining out a
supervisor assistance and support (Bao, 2018). According to employer workers always need to
have an ability to take a analytical and logical approach to solving issues and resolving

essential for me to asses my HR skills and other important competencies for post of Human
resource manager at TUI.
Working in a big and well reputed company is a big thing for a person because of this;
professional career can be progressed to great level. But to work in good firm, many important

skills and good competences are required. I am able to perform a specific job role as human
resource manager within TUI. I have many better skills because of which I can play this role in
effective manner. I Have a good communication skills which makes me able to communicate
well with people who work with me in team. Due to this skill, I can create relationship with
individual who work at workplace together which is also very important in the company. It can
help to fosters trust with others. I have ability to listen attentively and embrace varied point of
views that can help other trust that I am making optimal judgment for everyone in team.
Along with the above skill, I am able to solve any issue because I have good problem
solving skill which is really very essential and beneficial while playing role as HR manager
within company. It encourages me to believe in my ability to think logically or mathematically. It
makes me able to exert control over any situation or environment. It gives me a mechanism for
determining these things, figuring out why they are occur and identifying a course of appropriate
action to fix them in effective manner.
Multitasking is one of my ability that allows me to accomplish different task in effective
manner. With this competence I can work as HR manager in organization and cater desire
outcomes to management. I can deal with one member personal compliant one minute,
response a maternity leave queries next and then develop an effective talent management plan
for a difficult to fill specific position after. With this ability I can do anything and satisfy everyone
without making mistakes, I can handle any problem at same time. I can manage multiple
accountabilities at once by concentrating on one task while keeping track of others which is
quite better for me and other as well.
My planning skills are average which I need to improve, being an Human resource
manager planning for hiring new applicants and managing workforce is really very important. My
Time management skill is moderate as I got nervous when an situation comes and I have to
deal with it. It freezes my senses and makes me unable to obtain work done at right time. I can
say that my Supervisory skill is also moderate, due to my short term experience in field of
human resource manager.

majorly by internal process instead of external situations. It pays more focus and emphasizes
mental ability despite of observation that play vital role in professional development. However,
changing behavior or attitude is observed and is employed in cognitive procedure to obtain an
insight into what is going on in the mind of person.

Here, job interview is conducted for travel and Tourism industry role and that is human
resource manager within TUI company. During the job interview, a lot of questions were asked
by interviewer and after that there was also a written test, how it is known how good skills are in
the person. The interview went on for a long time and detailed information on skills and abilities
taken by interviewer. The role required within TUI is human resource manager who are able to
manage skilled workforce and enhance their performance level rather than before.

HR Manager need to be able to manage existing workers and hire new one with appropriate
skills and abilities. They has experience of recruiting and working across multiple areas and

workplace.
Accountability of applicant is to enhance company’s human resources by implementing,
planning and examining employee relationship and HR policies, practices and

P7 Key strength and weakness of an applied interview procedure
Interview taken for HR manage job role in TUI company that has been discussed above
clearly. The strength of this interaction is its many stages, it is very important to pass it, because
of that applicant get a specific job role that is human resource manager. Because of these
steps, the interviewer knows whether the person in front is right for this job or not. The
interviewer was focused on every test and there were many tests to go through the required
skills. There was a long list of questions in which many questions related to jobs and company
were asked which was also necessary.
Even after all this strengths, there was a weakness of interview procedure and that was
the time taken in that interview. Short time between each test is one of the weak points due to
which may appeared for second test. Due to taking so many tests together, people get less
time to prepare for further stages. This is a waste of time because there should not be so many
tests required for HRM position. The structure of the interview was also not correct, due to
which there was a lot of trouble to the people who came to give interviews. This interview is
another drawback that affects overall interview procedure and is that when the interview was
going on, many questions were not related to the job that consume extra time which is not good
for final results.
In this part strength and weakness of an above applied interview procedure has been
described that may impact on applicants.

From above analysis it has been concluded that on-going professional development is
quite beneficial for employer and employees as well as TUI in term of increasing their sales,
profitability and productivity rather than its competitors accessible in Travel and Tourism sector.
It has been identified that professional employer expect from an applicant to have
communication skill, team work competency, problem solving skills and time management as
well. By assessing own skills and competences for human resource manager job role it has
been determined that there are few skills person needs to develop by applying varied
techniques within development plan. It can be said that with the help of development plan, many
important skills have been good, such as planning skills, time management and supervisory
skills as well.
Furthermore, it has been summarized that by using cognitive and behaviorist learning
theories applicant develop their personal as well as professional development in effective
manner. There are a lot of weaknesses such as ineffective structure of interview and strengths
has been identified that can be improved in future by experienced persons.
