INTRODUCTION Business management refers to the process of organising, planning and analysing the activities that are related with the organisation. The effective management and smooth running of business is ensured if the person is able to deal with all the challenges that are there in the business report. Personal analysis is essential as it helps the person in realising the strengths and weakness and the ways in which they can further develop their skills in order to get personal and professional benefits in life.In this report, the SWOT analysis of my skills and attributes are covered along with the opportunities that I have in the business management profile. Further the growth in this career option is also discussed. MAIN BODY SWOT analysis STRENGTHSWEAKNESSES ï‚·Oneofmystrengthsinclude determinatetowardsmyworkand always focused about what I am doing. I am very much committed. When I was working at airport as a check-in agent I used to comfort people so that they do not feel stressed. ï‚·I am also so much disciplined in my personal and professional life. I always tend to finish my work on given time period and complete my commitments at my workplace effectively(Herman, 2017). This strength of mine helps me in making my good image in front of mentors or supervisors as I always used to follow their directions properly. ï‚·Iamalsodedicatedtowards ï‚·My weaknesses include that I am too detailedperson.Ipaytoomuch attentionandwantsdetailsofevery specific topic. This too much detailing makes me delaying in my projects and sometimes annoyed my subordinates or mentors. ï‚·I am also a over-thinker which makes increases my stress and makes me an irritatedperson.Myoverthinking sometimes makes me so impatient that it leads to decision fatigue. ï‚·I also want perfection in my personal andprofessionallifewhichleadsto conflicts with my subordinates. My too much detailing and perfection irritate people around me which damage my 1
accomplishing my targets and goals in my life. I give my full attention on specific task at one time so that it could be finished perfectly. This strengths of mine helps me in achieving my desired goals effectively and smoothly. ï‚·I am also an enthusiastic person who always find interest in what I am doing. I finish my projects by doing complete researchwithtakingfullinterestin topics so that I could accomplish it with perfection. relationship with people around me. ï‚·AsIamover-thinkerwhichalso generatesself-criticisminmy personality that leads to negativity in myself. When I am unable to meet my expectationIfeelguiltyandstart criticising myself(Hertig and et. al., 2020). OPPORTUNITIESTHREATS ï‚·As I am focused towards paying too muchdetailtotasks,ithelpsin enhancing my knowledge in business management subject. This will assist meinimprovingmyskillsand understanding more towards this sector whichwillgeneratemorecareer opportunities for me in future. I will be able to reflect my knowledge at my workplace in future which would assist me in making positive image of myself amongcolleagues.Mydedication towardslearningnewthingsabout business management will also assist me in my growth of knowledge. ï‚·I also need to improve my self-criticism ability in positive manner which will ï‚·My overthinking generates too much stress which eventually leads to wrong ordelayeddecisions.Thiscould develop a risk for me as I will not be abletoperformproductivelyatmy workplace. I manage all the operations of the store which helped me in developing interest in this field, also before this I used to work at an airport through which I learned a lot of skills. Further the ways in which my skills would help in generating good career opportunities are discussed below:ï‚·Adaptability-During the years when I worked at an airport, I developed this skills as I used to work in different shifts and I was required to adapt to the new timings, environment and working conditions. I learnt that adapting to the environment in which I work is most essential in order to increase the productivity. Further at my next work in which I managed all the operations of grocery store, I learnt that the environment is ever changing and I am required to adapt to the environment in order to sustain for a longer period of time. Hence this skills would help me in securing a good job as every recruiter is looking for a person who can easily adapt to the environment and work accordingly in the organisation in order to deliver the best results.ï‚·Critical thinking-This refers to the analysis and evaluation of different issues and information so that a solution and judgement can be formed. while working at an airport and further while owning a grocery store. This skill is very essential as it is used in the different managerial issues that the company faces while operating. I will get good career opportunities as while giving written tests for different jobs, the recruiter will analyse that I have good critical thinking as there are several case studies based in the exam based on the real life management issues. If I am able to exhibit such experienced skill to the recruiter then this will give a good impression and I will be able to gain competitive edge over the other candidates.ï‚·Team work-This is one of the major skill that is used in the management and business related jobs. I have majorly developed this skills while working at the airport as I was required to work in a team in order to deliver the day to day goals. Effectively managing and working in a team is helpful at every job as it helps in managing the work efficiently. Working in a team increases the overall productivity as it generates new set of ideas and different perspectives(Gupta and Misra, 2017).A recruiter will look at my experience at the airport, he will know that I have worked in a team in my day to day operations which will generate a good impression that I a viable of working in a team and I can easily adjust and cooperate with the other employees of the organisation. ï‚· Leadership-This skills helps the employees in motivation aspects and further the employees develops a strong feeling of working(Aini, 2018). I developed this skills while I am running my grocery store, as few employees worked under me I motivate them in different ways so that they can become productive. Leadership is one of that quality that helps the person in giving a good impression on other people. A manager must have this quality as he is required to manage the employees and get the most productivity and innovation out of them in the work. Motivation can be given to employees in different ways but the manager must have the quality of influencing people. I attained the goals of my store my using my leadership skills on the employees that are working under me. This skill would reflect in my resume that I can attain the set goals with the help of my skills so It will help my resume in gaining attention of the recruiter. Career growth I choose to pursue this course while working in grocery shop with Romanian products from the past two years because I want to explore more opportunities in this career path. Business management has various career growth opportunities such as Business analyst, project 4
manager, Human Resource manager, Data analysts and many more. My goal is to become a Marketing manager because as I was working in grocery store I learned to sell products which increased my interest in marketing sector(Shields Jr, 2018). For entering in marketing industry I need to focus on applying for entry level job which includes Project coordinator or social media coordinate. As trend for using social media has been emerging day by day therefore, I will focus on making myself more efficient in social media marketing. My aim is to work for big companies as a Marketing manager such as Google, Facebook and others. I think marketing is a good career path as it is all about developing and branding products or services offered by companies. It is also a high demand career opportunity in today's world of digitalisation and will also provide me job satisfaction. I will be able to enhance my personality more productive as marketing job would provide me more challenges and opportunities in career path. This career path willalso provideme chancesto enhancemyknowledgeaboutnewand advanced technologies which would keep me updated regularly with world. I will also be able to develop new ideas for marketing certain products or services which would assist me improving my critical thinking(Weng and Zhu, 2020). This sector in business industry will help me in finding new career opportunities and employers would hire those candidates who are interested along with provide full attention towards marketing their services or goods. This business management course will help in enhancing my knowledge and understanding towards various field of marketing and would assist me improving my personality. CONCLUSION From the above report it can be concluded that Personal SWOT analysis is helpful in analysing the areas in which the person lacks and further this can be used in order to increase the efficiency and productivity of the person. Further the personal skills and attributes are very helpful for the person in the career prospects and these skills generate good career opportunities. A good career growth is dependent on the skills that I use in my day to day operations and the tasks that are being allotted to me. A career in business management is requires several skills such as adaptability, critical thinking , problem solving and team working and the person who exhibit these skills has a good chance of securing a good job in a reputed organisation. 5
