INTRODUCTIONThe professional and personal development (PDP) is necessary to enhance the knowledgeand skills for personal development and advancement of career (Tseng and Kuo, 2014). Thegoals , strategies, outcomes of learning and training is set out by individual by means of PDPplan. In order to meet the challenges and desire goals the organization and individual engage inthe process of learning. The health and social care (H&S care) in UK is related with the servicesthat are given by health and social care providers. It is the duty of team manager to ensure PDPwhile treating young children with disabilities.This report will evaluate the key approaches to self-managed learning in order to gainlifelong development. The current skills and competencies against professional standard will beevaluated in this report. The personal and professional development plan will be implemented inthis report. The report will also suggest work-based problems solution and ensure smoothfunctioning along with various strategies for time management.TASK – 1 1.1 Evaluating the approaches to self-managed learningThe best possible way to learn about self-managed learning is to by observing the currentbusiness, examining the issues and conducting an investigation to find out what is going in thebusiness environment (Thompson, Amatea and Thompson, 2014). For self-managed learning theseminars and conferences are the best ways as the experiences and ideas can be shared by peopleby attending the conferences and seminars. This will enhance the personal and professionalsdevelopment .Due to sharing if ideas and knowledge people come up with new things. Theconfidence of people will be improved as they will become more confident to speak in the publicand this is very essential in the organization. The person will be able to present its knowledge inmore efficient way. The social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter can also help todevelop the self-learning as in today's time people use this platform to share their ideas withother humans so this will help them to learn new skills and will be beneficial for the bettermentof their personality. By surfing the different websites on internet people could gainknowledge .The personal and professional learning can be encouraged in the health and socialcare by doing self-managed learning (Nicholls, 2014).1

1.2 Ways by which personal and professional learning can be encouraged.The self-analysis can be done in order to help to develop good confidence and enhancethe communication and terms with people. The help in the professional learning can be gained byconducting SWOT analysis personally. By doing this the strengthen, weakness, opportunities andtreats of a self can be known (Kunter and Hachfeld ,2013.). For an instance the strength willdetermine the good learning skills, efficient communication etc. Weakness will determine theshort tempered behaviour of the person. The opportunities will determine the better environmentand better job etc and threat may be recession in health, money etc. The growth in professional and personal learning can be gained from continuous learningas they include experiences and events .The new skills, new understanding and new knowledgeas there is a constant evolution with continuous learning. The effective leadership goals help inlifelong learning (Nicholls, 2014).. In this one can learn how learners can influence other peoplein a group to do focused things. The goals of the organization can be achieved with the help ofeffective leadership. As in modern companies most of the companies are multi-cultures so it is a complex jointo communicate with distinct people in the similar organization. In order to observe differentpole and communicate with them, also is a type of self-learning. In order to perform a task suchas planning, organization, leading and controlling people the effective communication plays aimportant role for managers in the organization. In order to get things done in organizationcommunication is essential. A good time need to be devoted in communication to make it alifelong learning in their life (Huffman and Moller, 2014.).1.3 Evaluating the benefits of self-managed learningThe benefits of self-managed learning are many and the positive impact on the individuallearning and organization will be developed with the help of self-managed learning. Through theindividual past personal and professional experiences it will help individuals to acquire adecision-making skills. In a professional manner the individual learner can learn from theirpersonal experiences that will be the advantage for the organization.
