INTRODUCTIONFor community or society, health care practices are important. It is necessary to increaselevel of social and health care services. The level of health related issues are increasing day byday as new diseases are occurring in the surroundings which needs quick solutions. People mustbe aware of different kinds of diseases which may affect them to a great extent. Health or socialcare centre provides many services of medication and treatment to people of society and promoteawareness regarding diseases and social issues (Munn-Giddings and Winter, 2013). This projectreport is based on various principles of health and social care practices which help to minimizethe risk or hazards for patients and society. Also, awareness is provided in society regarding newdiseases along with their their precautions so that people can make take corrective actions andcan free themselves from diseases. In the following report effectiveness of awareness isdiscussed along with the importance for same for the society. Thereafter the need for awarenessregarding the health related issues will be discussed in the given text.TASK 11.1 Principles of support applied to ensure that people are cared for health or social care practiceThe main principle of health and social care practice is to provide support to variousservice users. Principle of support in health care services should be applied to assure or maintainbetter heath or well-being of service users and workers should be aware about the rights andpersonality of patients. Beliefs or culture is transferred from person to person as people comefrom different cultures in health care centres. So, the care worker must respect patient's beliefsand his culture (Sheldon, 2011). Care workers perform different activities and duties of serviceusers with helping them in different ways like walking, sitting, moving, lifting and many more.Principle of support is very important for service users as by the same, they are able to knowabout the treatment procedures and maintain their privacy level according to requirements. Thereare some principles to support social and health care which is given as below:It helps in ensuring that every person is able to set their own plan for their self careservices. There should be new methods of technology that can be utilised in social and health careservices by the concerned authorities.1

It assist in enhancing employees skills and knowledge so that they can give best servicesto patients. Management should involve care workers in the process of development, planning orevaluation of services which help to increase their confidence level. Also, various sessions for development of employees to minimize hazards and risksshould be conducted so that they can provide the best services to users of the same andmake them satisfied (Aveyard, 2014).Spread more awareness in society regarding new diseases and social issues so that peoplecan take required precaution to make themselves safe and secured. 1.2 Procedure for protecting patients, clients or colleagues from harmOne of the main objectives of health or social care practices is to promote as well asmaintain patient’s health and keep them comfortable or safe from various kinds of diseases. It isthe responsibility of employers of organisation to safeguard clients, patients, staffs or otherpeople who are associated with heath care centre. To make sure that everyone is safe in healthcare centre, first need is to identify reason of harm and risk. Harms can be of different kinds likepsychological, financial, physical and emotional. Health care workers must ensure that theservices which they are providing to clients is in good quality and is being deliverer in effectivemanner. To handle mentally affected patient is very difficult for care workers as they need morecare and support. It is important to protect people from mental harm as every person has differentcharacter and outlook. So, the best solution is for them is emotional support by their loved ones,family or friends which help them to overcome the mental pressure they are going through.However, for clients care workers help in completing their task if they are unable to handle theirstaff. Providing protection to colleagues from harm is also very important for care workers.Health and social service is more risky as comparison to other jobs. If any client is having loadof work and pressure than they can help them to reduce their work pressure (Reeves and et. al.,2011).1.3 Benefits of following individual centred approach Person centred approach means supporting or fulfilling the needs, wants and differentpreferences of clients. Clients are encouraged to take their decision strictly by maintainingprivacy and dignity. In health and social care setting, one of the best practices is to handle clients2
