Section 6 – Job Interview While applying for the role of Assistant Manager within the confines of Thomas Cook, I possessed certain important skills, knowledge and competencies. These would provide assistance to me in effectively executing my role and responsibilities. When the interviewer enquired me questions regarding my field, he was impressed with the spontaneity with which I responded to the queries. During the interview, I also analysed that the internship assisted me in grabbing this opportunities as opposed to a large number of potential candidates. As per my views, an individual should have adequate knowledge and skills associated with the applied job profile. As soon as I got information about vacancy in Thomas Cook, I began my preparations for interview and gained comprehensive knowledge of the applied job role. This assisted me in availing this job opportunity so as to give an escalation to my career. By appropriately responding to all the questions, I got selected for the post of Marketing Manager and further received recognition for my broad knowledge. Section 7 – Reflection With reference to the process of interview, I have identified certain strengths as well as weaknesses of mine. These are explained in depth as follows:- Strength:I have acknowledged that the interview procedure left a great impact over me. It provided aid to me in inflating my existent level of knowledge, skills and competence. My confidence level was one of my biggest strengths at the time of giving interview. I applied my spontaneous thinking skills to answer to the questions raised by interviewer in a quick manner. This interview provided me with a lifetime experience and helped me in tapping the mindsets of interviewers and leaving a good impression over them. Weakness:Iacknowledged that my ineffectiveness of general knowledge led me to become non responsible against two of the questions asked by the interviewer.I also lacked effective interpersonal skills as a result of which I was not able to effectively put forward my thoughts and opinions in front of the interviewer.It is my intent to effectively improve this aspect of my personality in order to make sure that the interviewer does not find any shortcoming in me or my interview the next time. 1
CONCLUSION As per according to the above mentioned report, this has been concluded that professional development plan is one of the essential aspect for an organisation or an individual as to ensure more growth. There are different types of learning theories that aid individual to increase their skill, knowledge and competencies in best effective manner.In addition to this, it has been determined that development plan provides due assistance in increasing and improving the skills and knowledge of an individual in an effective manner. This will allow them to get access to a great employment opportunity in future course of time. 2
