INTRODUCTION
Professional identity refers to the values, attitudes, beliefs, knowledge and skills which
has been shared with others within a group of professional. Professional identity is important
because it enables to consider the values and in which manner they relate to the behaviors which
are expected from us through profession and the colleagues. In the present report, Gilpin hotel &
lake house is taken into consideration(Clarke and et.al., 2015). Gilpin hotel & lake house boasts
the fine dining and suites with sumptuous interiors which sets the amidst the scenery of the Lake
District. It is the most leading which is directly on to the gardens and have their own cedar wood
hot tubs, spa lodges and bigger spa suites as well. The present report will cover discussion about
importance of personal and professional development and in which manner it enhances the
career prospects. In addition to this, the present report will cover analysis about the skills and
competencies which has been expected by the employer for particular roles within the
organization and also about the skills, competencies for one of the job role with support of self
evaluation models. Moreover the report will cover discussion about the different learning
approaches and theories which has been used for personal, professional development ad also
about the development approaches for enhancing the own personal and professional
development. The report also consist of the development plan for enhancing the chosen

that the capabilities keep pace with the current standards of others in the same field. With the
continuous personal and professional development, the individual remains more aware about the
changing trends and direction into the profession. That’s why continuous personal and
professional development is important for the employees of Gilpin and lake house hotel.

includes it help in increasing the retention level and also builds the confidence and credibility as
well. It also makes the succession planning easier which re-energize the staff members as well. It
also support into context of improving the efficiency level as well. From the personal

is possible that I can identify the weak areas into positive form and this can be possible through
