TASK 4 P6 Undertake a job interview for a suitable service industry role Interview is a structured form of questions that are asked by a interviewer to the applicant who has come for getting job in the organisation (Bruss, and Kopala, 2013). There are a set of questions which are asked in different organisations and this is unique for every company. The interview is a process of different stages which happen between the employer and employee for analysing the effectiveness of the new candidate who is looking for the job. The interview helps the company to know what are actual skills of the person and in this way it is also estimated that the person is able to work in the company successfully or not. There are different stages which are included in interview of a customer executive. This includes job description that includes preparing the interviewee to know about his job role and job description. The different stages included in hiring of new employees in Marriott hotel for the position of customer executive. The top level managers of Marriott International hotel chain will conduct interview of different candidates for selecting the best individual who fits in the organisation in most suitable manner. In context of the human resource manager of Marriott International hotel, the manager have to take interview of people for the job profile of customer executive manager. The customer executive manager has several responsibilities and most important role of this manager is to analyse the needs and demands of the customer and provide quality services for satisfying customers and clients. If I would be selected as the post of customer executive manager in Marriott International hotel then I will be having a number of opportunities which will help me in building my career in hospitality sector. Marriott International hotel chain is operating worldwide and hence working in this company will help me to improve my skills and abilities. There can be many obstacles while working in this company as I am not exposed to global organisations. If I am able to pass the evaluation process then there will be next level and rounds which will analyse my analytical skills. I have to pass the education skills and knowledge round to reach this level. The next round will include questions related to hospitality sector and skill based questions. I am not sure about success of this round as I have less knowledge about hospitality services and hence I am worried. I should work upon my knowledge regarding the hospitality sector. It is important for me to impress human resource managers of Marriott International hotel chain so that I will get a job in this company. I have a job experience of more than two years and according to me this will be a positive aspect for selecting me for the job role.
Moreover the biggest strength which I have is my educational qualification and work experience of two years. This will definitely help me to get job of customer experience manager. When I was going to give this interview, there were some aspects I searched such as information about company, job profile, roles and responsibility related to post and other necessary information. The questions which are asked in Marriott International interview by the human resource managers for the above job profile are listed below- Interview Questions Q1. Tell me about yourself ? Q2. What attracted you to apply for this job position? Q3. What initiatives will you take for increasing profits of the company ? Q4. interview is that I can easily answer questions of employer as they will include general questions about my life’s goal and my skills or educational qualifications. In a two way communication which is face to face communication it is convenient to express your thoughts clearly. I will answer all the questions of interviewer confidently and bravely. This will impact positively on employer and he may appreciate my confidence. I want to give interview for the post of customer executive manager and thus I should have abilities to understand people more clearly and control what activities As I have applied for customer executive job position interviewer might be looking for empathy which means ability to know what will make people more satisfied and happy.I have good interpersonal skills and it is easy for me to build good relations with other individuals and understand their emotions and problems. I have been working for two years and also I have given a lot of interviews before so I will not face any issue or problem while giving the interview. I have good critical thinking power which helped me to answer various trick questions. Sometimes in an interview, the interviewer asks questions related to situations and in that case to answer correctly a person should have good logical thinking and as I have logical thinking skills so interview is the best way for me to impress employers of Marriott International Hotel. Weakness of interview process- The major limitation of using an interview process is that I was sure that questions asked in the interview process will be tricky and not simple. I thought the interview will also consist of general questions and goals of the person in future. As interview will contain questions related to general knowledge, trick questions and logical thinking so I have to go through many books and online study content for grabbing knowledge. But on the other hand, this is not a right manner as for giving the interview I am studying all these aspects but apart from it I was not having knowledge about these issues before. If a person has not studied about tricky and tough questionsit will be not be easy for him to give the interview and become successful in it. If I was not having knowledge about current social and governmental issues then I will fail in this project. If I would be asked question related to some kind of current political issue and I am not having any idea about it then I will not answer the question properly and certainly my confidence level will become low. This will reduce the effectiveness of me in performing better in the interview. These above mentioned weaknesses and negative concepts will cause frustration, tension and anxiety. My overall performance will
decline in the interview. The main limitation of me is that if I don’t know about something then I stop speaking and this makes me feel bad as I am not aware about such aspects of life. CONCLUSION From the above mentioned report it has been analysed that professional development and practices are necessary for each and every company for increasing the skills and abilities of individuals of the organisation. This also helps in enhancing knowledge of people about current requirement of job role. There is a need for proper professional development program for analysingperformanceandgrowthofanindividual.Theabovementionedtheoriesof professional development will help the managers to know what kind of training and development programs should be given to candidates so that they can become competitive in the market. The learning theories helps an individual in the organisation will help in attracting and retaining a lot of customers. This report concludes that organisations must have an effective interview process that helps in identifying the abilities of an individual efficiently. In this way manager easily know whether this person can work in the organisation or not. Interview process consists of several stages and each level provides toanalyse strengths and weakness of the person at different aspects of professional as well as personal life. Moreover the professional identity and practices helps in proper application of skills, understanding and knowledge.
