Professional identity can be defined as concept of personal education and practices that a
person have and states how these activities can help to get better opportunities. To complete the
task and managing all activities there is need to focus on own skills and abilities as it build the

The report is based on British Airways Executive Club that is flag carrier airline of the UK. The
headquarter in London, England, and others that can help to operate the business and increase the
business performance. The management of such organization is having personal identity who
performs all functions and activities accurately. This report covers importance of on-going
professional development and self directed learnings, skills, competence and different learning
approaches, and professional development plan that helps to increase productivity. Moreover, it
covers range of service industry and transferable skills.

On-going professional development can be defined as process of improving the skills and
abilities of an individual which can help to develop the business performance and productivity.
Continuous professional learning is part of learning process that helps to earn and maintain the
professional credentials like as academic degree to formal coursework, attending conferences,
and informal learning opportunities that has created the good understanding regarding particular
topic and manage the all workings which increases performance and profitability. In British
Airways, number of people are working by managing all activities and functions as they are
enough qualified and experienced in their work which can help to develop their own skills and
knowledge which bring the higher productivity and profitability (McHale and Cecil, 2020).
