INTRODUCTIONProfessional identity can be defined as a description that is used by a person to describethe way they see themselves in professional context, like a Senior manager working within anorganization will describe themselves as a senior manager as it is their identity. Employees withdifferent professional identity will use their set of knowledge as per their job description, rolesand responsibilities, it is known as professional practise (Koonce, 2018). In other wordsprofessional practise is a way an employee works in the work place and fulfil their roles andresponsibilities. In order to grow and earn professional credentials it is important for employeesto learn new things, upgrade their professional skills and enhance their knowledge in order togain various carrier opportunities and improve or upgrade their professional identity. If anemployee wants to upgrade their professional identity they need to enhance their knowledge,skills, bring improvement within their work. It can be done through proper training which willhelp the employees to enhance their both hard and soft skills. This assignment will lay emphasison benefits on ongoing professional development for different stakeholders, skills andcompetencies required by employer for various skills, abilities, skills and competences requiredfor a specific job role, different learning theories and approaches used for personal andprofessional development, personal development plan, job interview for a role in hospitalityindustry and strengths and weakness of an applied interview process. Organization chosen forthis assignment is Hilton Hotel. It is a global brand that provides hospitality services to theircustomers. It is present in more than 85 countries with almost 169,000 employees working withthem.TASK AP 1 Benefits of ongoing professional development for various stakeholders within HiltonOngoing professional development is also known as continuous profession development(CPD) which is used for maintaining, documenting as well as developing professional skills(Humbert, 2017). These skills can be gained wither through training, attending courses etc. CPDfor different stakeholders benefits them in different ways. There are various stakeholders ofHilton hotel but three of them are the main stakeholders, such as: investors, employees,managers.For employees: CPD help them to keep their skills and knowledge and to date. It alsohelps them to maintain their qualification, professional standards as well as help them to1

upgrade their professional identities. Other than this ongoing professional developmenthelps them to upgrade their confidentiality and credibility and can showcase theirachievements and abilities. It helps them to achieve their carrier objectives and advancewithin their carriers. Other than this ongoing professional development helps employeesto increase their job satisfaction level which further motivates them to work with morededication. For managers: it helps them to enhance their skills and abilities that are required tobecome a successful manager and can showcase their skills required as a manager. Thisalso helps the managers to retain employees and increase job satisfaction level withintheir employees. For investors: Ongoing professional development does not help the investors much butstill help them in various ways such as: it helps them to maintain and remain updatedwith the industrial changes and also adopt required industrial changes within their Hotel(Wong and Lee, 2017). It also helps them to maintain and fulfil all the requirements oftheir employees as per the needs and requirements of the Hotel. Ongoing professionaldevelopment helps investors to remain updated with the latest technology that is requiredto be implemented within their business, which further helps them to gain competitiveadvantage and remain ahead in the market. Other than this one of the main benefit ofongoing professional development for investors is that it helps them to understand,identify gaps within the market using which they can bring changes within theirorganization.P 2 Investigation of competencies and skills expected by employer for specific job roles withinHiltonHilton hotel has various roles within their organization. Each job role has their ownspecified skills and competencies. Skills and competencies are required because it helps inmaking the job role more specific.
