Problems presented in the case study
As per the given scenario, there was a team of 21sales executive in organisation having
responsibilities for selling holiday packages. There are various problems have been presented by
this case study which are as follows:
Animosity: It implies to feeling of dislike between employees at workplace. In this case,
all other team members were not happy with Adam, Sara and Jane and having a feel of dislike
for them.
Lack of coordination: There was not proper coordination and cooperation between team
members such as Adam and Sara as both of them prefers to work in different pace.
Further, Jane was also not engaged due to his salary issue (Avis, Fisher and Thompson,
2014.).
Lack of motivation: Conflict between the team members has created a feeling of
demotivation between them. In case, Sara has made a formal complaint against Adam which
created conflict between them and effect the motivation of Adam towards job.
Absenteeism: These problems was a problem which was also analysed in respect of
Adam and Jane in organisation.
Causes of described conflict
Ineffective allocation of work: As per case study, No proper allocation of work was
there in department which has created animosity between teams. Other team members in
organisation were having feeling that Adam, Sara and Jane was having an unfair advantage.
Leadership: Ineffective leadership was also an important cause due to which conflict
between team members have raised. No proper work guidance was provided by previous
managers team members. No proper leadership style was implemented by managers.
Employee relations: Lack of positive relationship between team members and
management has also created conflicts at workplace.
Compensatory management: This was the major cause of absenteeism of team member
in organisation. As it was analysed that Jane has communicated with manager related to
Salary increment or reduction in work hours but that matter was remained unresolved.
This has created dissatisfaction in mind of Jane and problem of Absenteeism (Chasse,
2013).

Diversity: This leadership style can be effective in diverse workplace because an
autocratic style of leadership will cause alienation among the employees, a democratic
form of leadership can cause alienation some creates opposing results. Servant leadership
style served each members of the group. In present, managers will get benefits in
resolution of conflicts by concentrating on each team member in sales department who
have problems with their job responsibilities (Peterson, Galvin and Lange, 2012).
