1. Overview of the case scenario
This specific case scenario depicts the importance of using project schedule and Work
Breakdown Structure for implementing any project in the real field of application. The case is
about relocation of a family of two adults Kelly and Jeff along with their two children Will and
Lexie (aged of 7 and 12 respectively), their dog (named Buddy) and a car. The current location
of Kelly and Jeff is Sunshine Coast, Qld. Kelly has recently secured a new job designation as a
marketing director interstate and mainly for this reason Kelly has to take a transfer to Perth with
the family.
The school terms in Perth starts from Wednesday 31st January. Thus, the relocation
project needs to be accomplished within Wednesday 31st January as the Will and Lexie want to
attend their classes from the very first day. The total budget that has been estimated for the
project is maximum $15,000. Therefore, the list of activities must be designed in such a way so
that it becomes completed within Wednesday 31st January and within the budget of $15,000.
2. The criteria and assumptions used for preparing the milestones
In order to accomplish the family relocation project the criteria and assumptions that are
to be considered are elaborated in the below section:
