Importance of Milestones in Project
A milestone is defined as a point within the project that defines the end point of a
particular phase with a proper end result. In the project schedule, the milestone can be identified
by its characteristic zero duration i.e. it does not have any duration, rather, it only represents an
end point or a specific point within a project that includes a specific deliverable.
The cost overview reports are shown in the following screenshots.

In this matrix, it can be seen that cost of the project is categorised in the constraint row.
This is because, the overall cost of the project is quite high considering the nature of the project
and lack of availability of external funding and hence, the budget might be a constraint for the
project. Performance is listed in enhance row as it is required to enhance the overall project
performance. Finally, time is accepted for the project as the estimated timeline is considered to
be final and the project must be delivered within the estimated time as projected in the Gantt
chart.

Project Objectives
The objectives of the project (developed using SMART technique) include the following.
Specific To build a preschool building on a selected piece of
land
Measurable To complete the project within predetermined
parameters like schedule and budget
Achievable To complete the construction of building including
amenities like electricity and water for making it
suitable for preschool classes
Realistic To complete the project within $350,000 budget
Time Bound To complete the project within 12 months

Answer to the Questions
As seen from the schedule above, the overall project can be completed before the April 4,
2022 deadline. As per the estimation, the project will take a total of 695 working days and it will
be completed by 8th March, 2022.
The critical path of the project is as follows:
2 > 5 > 6 > 7 > 9 > 10 > 14 > 15 > 20.
G&E can pursue this contract as the timeline suggests there is sufficient time to complete
the project within the given deadline. Moreover, there is sufficient slack time for most of the
activities and hence, once the budget is fixed, G&E can easily proceed with the project. The
schedule Gantt chart is posted in the following diagram.

Potential Risks in the Project
Potential risks in the project are listed as follows.
 Budget overshoot and financial problem due to lack of sufficient funding
 Fire and electrical hazards causing severe or fatal injuries
 Use of illegal drugs by some students during concert
 Dehydration and heat exhaustion causing sickness among the students
 Violence and altercations between the students
FMEA Analysis

scale, 1 = very low and 5 = very high).
