PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Introduction
The project management is an approach which is used for ensuring the production of
business outcomes. The overall project management is categorized in such divisions like
project goals, project scope, work break down structure, time management, cost management,
project schedule (Kerzner, 2017). This report follows the project of vehicle maintenance
facility which consists of all the features with a location sized in small commercial building.
Here to complete the project, the project manager should follow such project management
related methodology by which the project team can achieve the success for the project
(Radujković & Sjekavica, 2017). Regarding this project, the project owner has made a
contract with a normal contractor that the project has to complete within the fixed scope as
well as fixed cost. Within this project, a paving, runoff and also a building are considered as
the project deliverable (Meredith, Mantel Jr & Shafer, 2017). Within the building, there must
implement a fire alarm system for security purposes. In this report, it has to present the
project goal as well as project scope, schedule etc.
Project goals and objectives
The project goals as well as objectives are the declaration of the project outcome
which has to be realized by the project team along with the full support. The project objective
is similar to the project goal (Heagney, 2016). Every project has a high level goal and it is too
problematic for the project team to achieve their target. To complete the project goal in a
positive way, the project chief should work with proper efficiency and instructs the exact
direction to the project team so that they can able to reach towards the project goal (Seymour
& Hussein, 2014).
According to this project, as this project relates with the vehicle maintenance facility
therefore within this project, a paving as well as a runoff and also a building has to construct

(Fleming & Koppelman, 2016). The paving should construct with asphalt along with concrete
curb as well as gutter and the runoff will construct with catch basins and also metal pipe for
draining purpose. At the opening of the project, the project boss has made a contract with a
general contractor for executing this project within the allocated time and also cost (Walker,
2015). Within this vehicle maintenance service centre, there has to keep enough space for
parking the vehicles or moving the vehicles during the servicing time. Moreover, during the
building construction, it has to construct within two parts including servicing area and also
office or training area.
Project scope
Project scope are mainly referred as the project deliverables through the entire life
span of the project (Mir & Pinnington, 2014). The project scope includes the project related
information that are required for beginning of the project. The project scope is also defined as
the process of managing project tasks that must be completed within the resources, time as
well as cost. Based on the project management oriented principles, the project scope depends
on the project requirements and for that within the project, if the requirements are not cleared,
therefore it is difficult for meeting the project scope (Leach, 2014). According to this project,
the project location is selected on the city street in the industrial park. During the starting
time of the project, the project manager has made a contract with a general contractor for
executing this project within the allocated time and also cost (Too & Weaver, 2014). Within
the scope management of the project, there exists in scope, out scope as well project
constraints and also project assumptions.
