INTRODUCTION
Project management can be describe as set of activities that is helpful in managing a
successful project (Braglia and Frosolini, 2014). It is a process as well as method that is required
for accomplish desired goals and objectives. Project management includes various deliverables
that consist of budget as well as timescales practices that is required for managing project. It is
essential that project manager have required skill or capabilities that is helpful in managing
various activities of project. This report includes QA higher education. This university is
conducting a project in which it is improving the space for business students. In this project
manager needs redevelop as well as refurbishment in London campus area. This university is
different arrangement in order to make better teaching space for business students. This report
includes various activities conducted by QAHE in order to manage various activities of project.
It consist of project initiation document that is helpful in conducting project activities in effective
and efficient manner. Various activities of work breakdown structure is also identified. In this
risk management plan is developed for conducting task and activities in effective manner. Apart
from this PRINCE 2 model and Waterfall methodologies is analysed for managing different
activities of project.
TASK 1
A. Sample project initial document
Project initial document can be describe as a scope of project, management as well as
overall success criteria that is required for conducting activities of project management in
effective manner (Bucero and Englund, 2015). This is considered as one of the essential
document that is required for project management as this is the foundation of a project. QA
higher education university is conducting a project in order to enhance the space for its business
students. Project initial document includes various important documents that is required for
stating as well as managing activities of project in effective and efficient manner. These
documents ensure that project manager will be able to successful run as well as complete project
activities with set time. Different elements that is included in project initial documents are
mention below in detail.

Budgetary information - This includes the amount of budget that is required by project
manager to conduct project activities in effective manner (Burke, 2013). In this project,
manager as well as QA higher education university is planning to manage different
activities project. In this manager is focusing on refurbishment as well as redevelopment
of its campus that is located in London area. For successful implementing various
activities of project, respective manager have £100k provisional budget. This budgets is
set with the help management department as well as other authorities of QA Higher
University. Timescales – Time scale documentation can be refers as all those aspects that is helpful
in identifying the time duration that is required for managing project activities. This

studies and management. Successful completion of this project will help in providing
better teaching facilities to students. Project manager have company this project without
disturbing the teaching timetable of students. This will lead to increase the time in
successful competition of project activities. In this time scale that is required by project
manager is 6 months time duration. Objectives – In this document project manager needs to analyse as well as evaluate the
major aim and objective of conducting respective project activities. The main objective of
this project is to develop or enhancing space for business students in order to provide
better teaching facilities to students (Fleming and Koppelman, 2016). In this project
manager have to conduct its project activities without disruption in the teaching time. Approaches – There are various approaches that is required by project manager in order
to conduct project activities in effective and efficient manner. These approaches will
support project manager to identify as well as analyse various ways that will help in
performing task and activities in appropriate way. In successful completion of project,
manager needs to analyse several ways through which seating arrangement can be
retracted as well as acoustic panel on the wall. This will help in supporting as well as
enhancing space of teaching. Through this project management team can conduct task
and activities in effective manner. Key staff – Key staff that is helpful in managing the activities of project in better way as
well as successful completion of task. HQ higher education university consist of different

staff member that is teaching students which their full capabilities as well as skills. Key
staff member that is required for completion of different task of project are faculties of
management departments as well as senior staff members (Fortune and et.al., 2011).
With the support of key staff member project manager will be able to manage project
activities successful.
Stakeholder – There are several stakeholder that have impact on performance as well as
activities of project. It is very important for project manager to identify as well as manage
various essential stakeholder of project manager. This will support in completion of
project activities. Key stakeholder of QA higher education is consist of University broad
of director, government, raw material suppliers, head of University, staff member and so
on.
