Role of Communication
Business Communications is an integral part of project success. Lots of adverse
situations arise due to poor communication or lack of communication. Thus the business
people must understand the importance of communication otherwise it will result in delayed
projects and dissatisfied customers. Good business communication provides a detailed
overview of what should be done to make the project successful.
Communicating with one or many
Good business communication means one person is conveying a message to another
person over the phone without any distortion. It is simple and easy as one can exchange ideas
with ease and can understand each other views or ideas. However, it is quite difficult when
business communication is ‘one-to-many’. One person conveys messages to several other
people and it is quite challenging to convey messages without any distortion (Mishra,
Boynton and Mishra 2014). The role of good communication involves communication
between two employees or more than two employees by eliminating the dissonance.
Innovative Business Idea
Communication plays an important role when any company wants to launch new
products or initiates a new service. Communication among business people helps to know the
how good the product is, it can be also known how fast it can be brought to the market.
Communication also helps to acknowledge how well sales force will perform. The new
products are generally developed by small teams working together. A product can be
successful if the business stakeholders communicate with each other openly and honestly
(Karjaluoto, Mustonen and Ulkuniemi 2015). If any large company wants to develop

complex automotive items, the entire project team must organize the meeting and discuss the
project aspects on a regular basis. This approach can bring success to the company.
Shaping morale of company
A company may face downturn or heavy loss. The CEO can play an active role to
boost the morale of the employees. If the CEO is concerned about the company’ prospects
and communicates with the employees what actions should be taken to compensate the loss,
the employees will give a positive response (Ocasio, Loewenstein and Nigam 2015). Thus
communication can play an active role in shaping the morale of a company.
Sales and Marketing
Communication also plays an important role in sales and marketing as well. Sales and
marketing are essential in shaping image of the company. A salesperson of a particular
organization typically masters one-to-one communication. The salesperson has the capability
to read one’s body language, overcome objections and sell the product to the customers. It is
his responsibility to communicate well with the customers about the benefits of the products
and the payments (Jin, Liu and Austin 2014). The salesman through effective communication
can gain more and more customers.
Communications Audit
Communication audit helps to know how a company can improve, how a company
can offer better customer service. Communication audit can be performed by a short
questionnaire where the customers are asked to review the product and the company.
Questions are also asked about the employees and how well they serve the customers
(Ocasio, Loewenstein and Nigam 2015). The results are assessed and based on this

assessment the company takes action to improve their business activities and offer customer
service.

After applying crash costing techniques the project deadline has been reduced to
about six days. In the Foundation summary task, the deadline for framing doors and windows
has been reduced to 1.5 wks. The deadline for doors and windows has been reduced to 2.5
wks. The deadline for furnishing the building inside has been reduced to 2 wks. The wood
machinist, painter and decorator can optimize the tasks and thus the project can be completed
faster. The number of days has been reduced from 315 days to 307.5 days. The project budget
gets reduced to $159,360. The tasks highlighted have been modified.

Project Handover issues
Project Closure and Project Handover is an important aspect of project management.
The project team must consider that the project is completed. Several issues can occur at the
time of the project handover. The client may be not satisfied with the construction project.
The client may reject the project. The client may refuse to pay for the project as they are not
satisfied. The project team must consider the project deliverables, final report, clients or the
customer training, settling down of all the invoices, preparation of documents. The client
subcontractor must take a active role in the project and must stay till the end. The client
subcontractor will ensure that the project activities have been done accurately and the project
is ready to be delivered.
