4.9 Plan project risk management
Risk type and causes Likelihood Impact Risk level Mitigation strategies
Schedule risk: Due to delay
in one of the project
activities, the entire project
gets delayed (Gopi & Lalu,
2016).
High Medium High It is required to plan a proper
project schedule based on the
project requirements. In this case
Ms Project file is required to
schedule entire network support
design and configuration plan.
Budget risk: The budget is
increased due to addition of
extra resources and
expenses into the scheduled
plan.
High High High It is required to plan the project
considering all the expenses
involved and all project
investment resources (Shi et al.,
2018).
Resource risk: There are
lacks of project resources in
the project plan so that the
project is not completed in
scheduled time.
Medium Low Medium There is required to hire more
resources for the project so that
the project phases are allocated
with each resource based on their
expertise and technical skills.
Technical risk: The network
can fail due to not
maintaining the company
infrastructure to meet with
the technical needs of the
project.
High Medium High There should require to properly
maintain the network so that the
company can meet with its
project deadlines and all the
design and configuration work is
performed properly.
Training risk: There are
some employees into the
project those have lack of

Capital cost The project was funded with an amount of $78,520.00
The project installation phase is increased with a budget
of $1800
Schedule There is a delay of 10 days in the project installation
phase
Safety The total number of casualties in the project have
increased slightly after implementation work
Resource There is hiring of extra resources for the project so that
the project can complete on scheduled time
7. Conclusion
It is concluded that design and configure of the network support for the company provides with
technical equipments as well as solution to provide cost effective network infrastructure. The project
manager can meet with scheduled timeline so that the project is completed. It helps to meet with
expectations of the company for further expansion. The network infrastructure is implemented for
hosting of data communication as well as data storage. The project work is conducted to improve
network capacity, improve network infrastructure and implement hardware and software for the
designing the network infrastructure. The network is modified with designing for the growth in
providing IT solutions to other business organization.
8. Recommendations
Following are the recommendations which are suggested to the IT Project Manager to perform a
better design and configuration work for supporting a new network infrastructure:
a. Implementation of secured and disaster recovery plan for the project
b. Providing off-site storage solutions for backup as well as easier data access
c. Training of the current IT staffs to maintain a proper network implementation work
