INTRODUCTIONManagement of people in an organisation is crucial because it will help to manage andcontrol different operational activities which lead towards profitability and production. Thereport will cover process of recruitment and selection followed by Harrods associated with jobadvertisement, specifications, description and resume. The advantage and disadvantage ofrecruitment and selection process is also covered in this report. Motivational theories in order todrive performance of employees within firm along with their advantages and disadvantages arealso covered in this report. Finally, the report will demonstrate factors that have an impact onindividual behaviour and performance associated with recommendations to manage effectivecooperation within firm. TASK 1Process of recruitment and selectionRecruitment and selection process: Recruitment and selection process is very important for anorganisation in order to recruit new and best employees for the business effectively. This processwill help managers to fill vacancies in the firm by recruiting new candidates for the appropriatepost. Employees who are already working in the firm have more opportunities to promotethemselves towards the higher post and work. Job advertisement is one of the effective methodsused in recruitment and selection process to promote promotional activities. The process beginswith advertisement and end up with interview process where the best candidates are chosen bymanagement. The process of recruiting and selecting workers for Harrods depends on anindividual’s skills and knowledge (Bendell, 2017). The Manager should have good knowledge ofbusiness management, abilities to manage workers at workplace and must be able to controlvarious activities within business.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe manager is responsible for undertaking certain elements of business in order tounderstand things such as employee’s management, work allocation, resourcesmanagement etc.Ensure the management and controlling works, marking and preparation of training anddevelopment program to develop and improve workers’ performances.Provide the proper management and employment facilities, health and safety securitiesand welfare provisions.
