INTRODUCTION
Caring is regarded as a duty of wide variety of people and not just one individual. It is
considered that if people will get good support and care then they will be able to get cured more
easily as they will get emotional, social and physical support which will be very effective. This
report will be very helpful in making them happy and satisfied. In NHS there are many people
who support activities for caring people (Gaskell, 2010). This report is important to know roles
and responsibilities in social care.
TASK 1
P1 Identification of roles of non-direct workers
Social care environment are non profit society having some goals to welfare society such
as nursing homes, day care centres,etc. There are many executive and non executive persons in
NHS. Executive workers are necessary but at the same time these days role of non executive
personnel also increases. Executive workers work in front of public, while non executive
workers supports are the activities of company. Some non director workers are as follows- Driver- There are vehicles used in care homes, so there is requirement of drivers. So they
play vital role in transporting people as well as material from one place to another. Caterer- These are people who provide assistance in cooking and serving. Hence they are
essential part in conducting day to day operations (Harris and Leather, 2011). Office staff- There are various activities such as entertainment, expense relate to daily
routine, etc. are part of NHS. Hence there is need of administration department which
look after these activities. Security guard- Security of old age people is important as major issue. So there is need of
security guard in premises.
 Maintenance- There is need of sweeper, gardener, etc. for maintaining cleaning in care
home. This is important to analyse what steps must be taken to maintain good
surroundings.
P2 Interpersonal skills required for non-direct workers
NHS has various activities which required personal and inter personal skills and
competencies in organisation. Personal skills are inbuilt in person while interpersonal skills can
be learned. Some of the interpersonal skills are:

 Verbal communication skills- There is environment in social care and it is important to
maintain that decorum so workers must be aware of language while talking, tone,
pitch,etc. Worker must have listening skills. There is interacting between candidates of
various departments regarding changing of information. Non verbal communication skills- Not only verbal language but also non verbal skills
such as gesture, posture, dressing sense,etc. are essential while interacting to other
person. Non verbal communication give based or good impression without uttering a
single word so it is important that management has to teach non verbal skills (Kossek and
et. al., 2011).
 Application of care values- Management of NHS has to take care their must not be
politics in organisation. It is important that there must be feeling of confidentiality,
equality and promotion in mind of management. This will help to crate good environment
and personnel are also satisfied to serve.
TASK 2
P3 Role of non-direct workers in the operation of a team
There is important role of team while operating different activities. Non direct workers
are important component of team in making actions successful.
Roles of non direct worker are: Manager- They have to sometimes work as manager in care homes are guide different
personnel. Manger has to motivate team members to achieve assigned duties and
responsibilities. Health and Care worker- Organisation is formed for some specific reason so non direct
worker has to perform task of health and care worker. Volunteer- There are various events on occasion which are organised or conducted by
NHS. So it is responsibility of Non direct work to volunteer events (McGarrigle and
Walsh, 2011).
 Other roles- There are many other roles which non executive director has to perform.
Such as event planner, organiser, etc. This will help to coordinate in departments when
concern person is absent. Non work director's knowledge will increase and they have
information about various sectors.
Purpose of team working are-

Team is group of individuals formed to achieve some common goals and objectives. Integrated services- There are many activities in organisation which may or may not be
related to one another. Team building will help to make activities easy and achievable on
time. Safe and inclusive services- Team consist of various different personality having some
skills which help to provide good quality services. It will be helpful to make employees
feel safe at while they are working (Moriarty, Sharif and Robinson, 2011).
 Effective communication- There is important role of communication in organisation.
Working in team will help employees to create effective communication within company.
Effective communication is not only beneficial for employees but it will help in
delivering proper information.
TASK 3
P4 Role of non-direct care workers in maintaining health, safety and security in caring
environment
In NHS there is important role of manager in accomplishing task. There must be feeling
of security to employees which make them motivated to work with full energy.
Role of non direct workers in maintaining health
There must be so code of conduct which are necessary to follow by employees . It is
responsibility of non direct workers to keep eyes on operations of employees. This will help to
maintain cleanliness in the company and director has to use different techniques to apply them.
Role of non direct workers in maintaining safety
Employees working in care home want feeling of safety so it is important to
communicate with employee to solve them. Director motivate employees to take care company
property. This will help to maintain property of organisation safe and employee has fear that they
may get penalised (Repper and Carter, 2011).
Role of non direct workers in maintaining security
There must be familiar environment in NHS which can be created by director. This will
help to improve efficiency of workers and employees also feel safe regarding their entry and
exist procedure. This will help to provide good services to customer and provide assistance to
workers.

P5 Importance of supervision and management in development of non-direct care workers
NHS is working in society and there are many changes happening company. So it is
important to apply those changes in operations. To make supervision more effective NHS
management use process process through which they can take feedback and can resolve
problems. This will help company to deal with external changes in environment. Training and development- There is requirement of training to employees to coop up with
such modification. So manager has to provide assistance that they can work under new
changes. This will help to create long relations with employees(Gaskell, 2010). Good environment- There is good environment in organisation if manger guides and
monitor employees. They also feel safe to work and there will be good relations among
employees.
 Innovative and new ideas- through supervision company can apply new changes in
organisation and if employee is feeling any problem it can be resolved easily. This will
give good image in the mind of employees and increase goodwill in market.
CONCLUSION
Through this report, it is clear that Social work is not easy to operate. There is
requirement of proper guidance so that employees can achieve targets on time. There is
important role of non direct worker to monitor the operations and take corrective actions when
needed. There are many roles which non direct has to play such as volunteer, manager, etc. There
is important role verbal as well as non verbal communication in Social care organisation. This
will help to build good relations in company, employees are aware to take care official property.
