Research methodology is termed as an essential part of study that states related to tools and
techniques that are being utilised in order to perform research investigation (Malik, Pereira and
Tarba, 2019). These tools and techniques provide formative support and offer guidance to
investigator in order to undertake actions to ensure effective accomplishment of research aim and
objectives. Mentioned below there are some certain research methods that are being undertaken
in order to conduct recent research investigation:
Research design: - Research design play key essential role over its final outcome as it
decide the direction in which it is to be presented. These are mainly of three types that include
descriptive, exploratory and experimental. In order to conduct present research investigation
research design method of descriptive form is being undertaken in order to perform investigation
with proper explanation.
Research philosophy- There are mainly two form of research philosophy that are
Interpretivism and positivism that being are undertaken by researcher in order to conduct
research. This has been evaluated that respective research is being undertaken with the assistance
of quantitative methods thus positivism philosophy is been undertaken in order to provide
assistance of imposing knowledge in an appropriate manner, while presenting gather information
and data in a well effective manner by evaluating them in an effective manner.
Type of investigation: - There are two forms of investigation that are quantitative and
qualitative. As to conduct present research evaluation quantitative type of investigation are being
undertaken. With the help of this investigator effectively allocate required and necessary
information, figures, facts and numerical form data in order to conduct research with accuracy as
to ensure best possible and outcomes (Whysall, Owtram and Brittain, 2019).
Research approach: - In order to conduct research there are mainly two approaches that
can be undertaken by researcher that are that are deductive and inductive. In terms with present
investigation, researcher undertakes use of deductive approach in order to evaluate and analyse

quantitative data in an effective manner as to accomplish research objectives in a when define an
effective manner.
Research strategy- In order to perform research there are different type of strategies that
can be undertaken like questionnaire, case study, observation, survey etc (Kundu, Kumar and
Gahlawat, 2019). In context present research investigation this has been evaluated that
questionnaire research strategy tool is being undertaken by researcher as to gather necessary
and essential information in order to provide effective support in collections of different
individual viewpoint as to support investigation in a feasible manner. Mentioned below

reason behind undertaking both form of data collection method namely primary and secondary is

study to effectively gather essential data and understanding related to present research.

Sampling- This process is defined as selection of a group to gather information on behalf
of all population. This has been identified that sampling is done with the assistance of non-
probabilistic and probabilistic method (Podgorodnichenko, Edgar and McAndrew, 2019). In
order to conduct present research investigator undertake use of probabilistic method in which
researcher selected sample size of manager. Probabilistic approach provides assistance in
avoiding bias behaviour and offer equal chance to each and every aspirant so that appropriate
outcome can be ensured.
Reliability and validity of study- As to effectively ensure reliability and validity in data
researcher undertake questionnaire as to allocate data and information from primary source. It
helps them to ensure that data and information’s are reliable and authenticated as they are
directly collected from respondents (Yang and Guan, 2019).
Cost, access and ethical issue- It is mainly related with financial and ethical aspect of
study. This has been identified that as to initiate research investigation it is essential for

going to be share with Marriott hotel shareholders that are government, management, key
executives personals, employees etc (Tafvelin, Nielsen and Hasson, 2019). This has been
evaluated that among all the shareholders managers acts as essential individual who have proper
understanding related to employee engagement importance and the manner in which it get
implemented in workplace structure of organisation. It further provides assistance in presenting
investigation with more accurate data as well as information’s.
Sources of communicating outcomes: By undertaking assistance of different measures of
communication present research outcome can be share with stakeholders. Some of the key
essential communication sources include written form, online report, mails etc. With the help of
these outcome investigator can effectively able to elaborate research investigation in a well
defined manner.

being elaborated. Employee engagement acts as essential aspect for any organisation especially
those who are offering the services in hospitality industry. This has been evaluated that
employees in this industries are directly connected with customers; in this line manager and
leader provide best effective training and development measures to employees in order to
increase their performance, knowledge and skills. In addition to this line manager and leader also
ensure that they engage each and every employee in the decision making process of organisation
and provide them proper appreciation and rewards in order to ensure their wellbeing. Further it
has been evaluated that Marriott hotel operate their functioning in luxurious hotels segment in
which leaders and managers are having effective skills, talent and characteristics through which
they ensure effective employee engagement and well being of workers in an effective manner not
only to increase their performance and productivity but also facilitate maximum growth and
development of organisation while satisfying customers at its best.
P7. Alternative research methodology
In order to execute the research investigation in an effective manner certain form of survey
is been chosen by me which is questionnaire (Miao and Cao, 2019). This mainly aim towards
evaluating preferences and response from different individual those who are performing their
role in hospitality industry related to role of line manager and leader for employee development
and their well being that further create positive workplace environment through which effective
development of employees performance are ensured by both of the key personnel. After proper
and efficient information gathered by me by respondents I further looked forward to undertake
interview survey in which it is required by me to have face to face conversation with line
manager, leader and supervisors of hospitality industry in order to effectively collect essential
and accurate information as to conduct research on Marriott hotel.
CONCLUSION
As per the above mentioned report it has been concluded that, line manager and leader play
key essential role in engaging each and every employee and ensuring their wellbeing as to
increase their performance and loyalty towards organisation. This further lead towards creating
positive environment that encourages maximum profitability of organisation. By taking
advantage of different methods of training and development courses both the key personnel in
Marriott hotel engage each and every employee in the decision making process of organisation as
