It includes a case study on Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant to understand the impact of technology on its productivity. The research aims to determine the role of technology in business, examine its impact on the restaurant's productivity, and identify the complexities faced by the restaurant in adopting technology.

Abstract
The current research work is based on determination of role of technology and its impact
on organisational productivity. In this project to get better understanding about the above topic a
quantitative research and investigation is conducted on Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant to get
better understanding about the impact of technology on its productivity. Further, the current
research work also focuses on issues that are faced by an organisation while implementing a new
technology at its workplace for which data collected through questionnaire to fulfil and meet
objective of current research work.

Technology is something that aids in skills of employees and also enhances efficiency of
business operations through brining new and better idea for performing a task thus, plays a
crucial role in enhancing productivity of an organisation (Duke and Montag, 2017). With
increase in the level of competition together with changing market trends and dynamic behaviour
of customers the role and impact of technology is also enhancing for organisation as it facilitates
a framework to establish better customers relation through offering better quality services and
meeting their expectation. The Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant is a famous restaurant situated at
London, UK that consists of live cooking stations where customers can order and have a food
which is freshly cooked. Thus, to maintain the coordination and proper management of supply
and demand of food products effective implication of technology has become crucial for this
restaurant to maintain its productivity and sales level. Thus, the current research work is focused
on determining role of technology and its impact on organisational productivity based on
investigation of Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant.

Aim for the research
The main aim of conducting this research work on Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant is, “To
determine role of technology and its impact on organisational productivity.”
Research objectives
The objectives behind conducting this investigation on Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant
are stated as below:
 To determine role of technology in business.
 To examine impact of technology in productivity of Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant
(Ebert and Freibichler, 2017).
 To identify the complexities face by Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant by adopting

adopting new technology. Further, the current research is having a wide scope for investigator
and other scholars as facilitates better knowledge and also lead to development of better skills
and research experience.

impacts that it bring flexibility and rapid change in the premises as it related with employee
productivity, organization structure change in terms of policies and norms, where it brings the
positivity environment in which workforce works in the fully compliance order which enhance
the mobility of the discipline in the premises. A business model and concepts are revolutionary
as it provides the strategy in technology which gave the better approach as how to go about the
business. Security and support for the organizational work through the technology format where

it simply enhance the data security and helps to reaching a increasing level of productivity as it
deliverables to leads the more amount consumers and clients(Hoboubi and et. al ., 2017).
By implementing the new technologies in organizational work where upgraded software’s
which are comprises about to creating and managing the data in systematic manner where it can
easily scrutinized and allocating the data procurement.

culture as in context of workforce productivity and other factor which it works according to
fulfilling the lacking part of the business aspect where it enhance the smoothness in the work

their premises is scrutinize in many significant factor which are as follows: It increased the employee availability: Technology has made it possible on which people
can get easily access to work from home through various resources like laptops,

A research approaches provide the plan and procedures which is assorted through
researcher in the research as it involves various steps and board assumption as for the implies

Deductive: This approach involves the selecting theory which has develop the hypothesis
as for the creating the final theory and collecting and analyzation of data on the basis of

Inductive: This approach of research is involving generation of new theory which
emerge from the data. It provides a more logical process through multiple assumptions and

As for this particular research there is use of deductive approach for selecting where it
provides optimum of theory from hypothesis as to collecting and analyzation of data in simplify
manner while Inductive approach will focus only to generating the new theory and mixture of
data information which will not suitable for the research (McArthur and McCord, 2017).

The research method generates the systematic planning of conducting and attaining the
objectives of any research. There are two amin types of research method which are described
below :
Qualitative method: By using of this method of research te researcher are more focusing
to scrutinizing the depth knowledge and detailed knowledge as well as analyzation of behavior of
respondent is collected for the purpose of research (Fusi and Feeney, 2018).
Quantitative Method: By using of this research method the researcher are more
considering the analyzation and evaluation of data in numeric and arithmetic framework on
which it reflect the point of review of participants and not interested to provides the depth
knowledge (Pheng and Meng, 2018).

As for this research there is use of Quantitative research method is selected as it provides
the numeric or statistical representation of data for the research where it also facilitates the facts
and figure of research data information while qualitative research method is only provides the
detailed knowledge about the research where it is not required for this research.
Sources of data collection
It basically represent the data invention form where it actually collected or gathered
(Antonioli and Pini, 2017). The main sources of data collection are follows:
Primary Sources: The data collected from this sources provides the first hand data by
which researcher is investigating the data information through the interviews, surveys ,
questionnaires and feedbacks etc.
Secondary sources: the data is collected is the mobility through the data investigation
and evaluation through other existence data document where it collected from other’s research as
in articles, books, internet or newspaper through past records (Chrisman, Devarajand Patel,
2017).
As for this particular research there is used of both primary and secondary sources of data
collection where primary is helps to collects the data for the framing of questionnaires as
secondary source is prevails the information required for questionnaire findings from other
research document.

Instrument Used: Use of questionnaire is made for data collection which is basically a
written document consists a range of questions associated with a particular topic and offer the
simplest and easiest way to collect primary data from respondents. As for this research the used
of instrument of making the objective attaining through the questionnaires for collects the data
information topic of research (Chadburn, Smith and Milan, 2017). The questionnaire that is
used for collection of data for current research work is attached and provided below at the end
of this research project in Appendix A.
Sampling Method: It is method of selecting a set number of respondents from a large
population (Fusi and Feeney, 2018). Use of probability sampling is made for current research
work in order to reduce the chances of biasness. For the sample size in this research is to
predicting the 40 respondent from the workforce or employees of Cosmo World Buffet
Restaurant.

To ensure compliance with all ethical implications related with a research work all the
code of conducts and research principles are complied while performing this investigation. A
written consent and approval is also taken from all participants before there involvement in
research work to ensure that no one is emotionally or physically hurt with current research work.
Beside this, proper care of security of collected data is also taken to ensure compliance with data
security act to fulfill all ethical considerations.

connecting of technology effect in Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant can brings the new resources
through technology factor like machinery coffee, electronic booking of tables, online order as
well as feedbacks as this type of elements can brings the positive change in any organization.
Technology is also emphasis about to improvised in workforce productivity where it allows to
give a benchmark towards organization through providing optimum and authentic training and
instruction where they can use in to procuring the resources and making useful the technology
for their benefits. Some of the challenges which has been face through the organization to
implement the technological factor which enhance the better productivity but due to some
circumstances brings the conflicts as well as disturbs the work procedure as it necessity allows to

procuring huge amount of capital for buying the resources in the objectives fulfillment in the
premises of the organizations.

Further work
5.1. Critical appraisal
On the basis of above research work it can be evaluated that technology plays a vital role
in enhancing productivity of an organisation through Improving communication, streamlining
workforce and enhance coordination together with automated customer services and more
effective and better management of data flow. But it has been also observed with current
research project that many issues and challenges are also faced by organisation while adopting
and implementing new technology at its workplace that consists of lack of staff training,
insufficient and inadequate finance and other resources along with issue of non acceptance from
customers that is mainly due to complexities in selection of right platform and technology to
meet the expectation and needs of customers.
5.2. Recommendations
With respect to above research work it has been observed that many difficulties and
complexities are faced by an organisation while adopting and implementing technology that
includes lack of skills and training in employees thus, it is recommended for Cosmo World
Buffet Restaurant to provide regular training and development programmers to its employees in
order to enhance and sharpen their skills and competencies. Further, it has been also observed
that lack of resources and selection of right technology and platform is also an issue while
adopting a technology therefore, proper planning on the basis of customers feedback together
with proper allocation of resources to solve the issue of inadequate resources is also
recommended for Cosmo World Buffet Restaurant.
5.3. Reflection and suggestions for Further work
The above research work is an informative journey for me that has lead to enhancement in
my knowledge and skills about the current research topic. Further, it has been find out by me that
technology is having a positive impact on performance and productivity of an organisation.
While conducting this research work my skills and experience is got enhanced but many issues
are also faced by me that includes collection of reliable data thus, use of quantitative research

method and questionnaire was made by me. Further, to ensure that my work would complete on
time and all objective should met in an effective way use of a Gantt chart was made by me.
Besides this, to fulfil my ethical consideration proper consent and approval from respondents is
also taken by me. Thus, current research work has lead to development in my overall research
skills and communication level therefore, lead to many opportunities for further and future work.
The suggestion for further work could include the other research topic that meet my educational
and professional criteria and facilitates improvement in my skills as my resrch skills are
improved and have better information about selection of suitable research method to meet its
objective to conduct further research in a more defective manner.
Chapter 6: Conclusion
It can be concluded on the basis of above research that a positive impact is lead by
technology on overall productivity of an organisation through leading better connection among
dispersed workforces and also facilitates regular customer feedback and data flow. It could be
summarised that enhanced collaboration with customers and automated and optimized business
process are also lead by technology that enhance its role in enhancing productivity and sales
revenue of an organisation. Beside this, it can also be concluded that many challenges and issues
are also faced by organisation while adopting and implementing a technology in an organisation.
The main challenges that is faced by an organisation while adopting technology includes lack of
skills in employees along with insufficient resources and selection of wrong platform or
technology. At last it can be summarised that to overcome and encounter the complexities
associated with adopting of technology various strategies can be adopted by an organisation like
providing regular training and learning session for employees together with more effective
planning and allocation of resources.
