Background of Research
Discrimination in an organization is not better for the organizational productivity as well
as reputation. It is concerned with not treating staff members equally. Mainly discrimination
arise gender, religion, age and other basis. Gender discrimination in an organization has been
considered in present project. This is concerned with not to treating the male as well as female
employees equally at workplace (Adesoye and et. al., 2017).Gender discrimination has a
detrimental impact on the efficiency and productivity of workers. Located nearby Aldgate East
Tube Station in London, Arbor City Hotel. The organization focuses mainly on the fair treatment
of all workers. This helps to achieve the company's goals and targets in the given time. It lets
workers remain on the job for a longer period of time.
Rationale of Research
The research is focused on the effect on employee performance in a company of gender
discrimination. The key aim of the inquiry is to examine the problem and to find the reasons for
the problems and to solve them. Gender inequality is a big problem and is not fair to men in the
workforce to treat women. The negative influence develops this type of problem. Behind the
issue emerge other attitudes that contribute to gender inequality on the job. At the other hand,
learners will develop their abilities and expertise to perform this investigation in better way
(Bayl‐Smith and Griffin, 2014).

Arbor City Hotel.

Gender discrimination at workplace
On the basis of Jill Harness (2020) Discrimination toward gender may take different
forms at work so both men and women can enjoy the law. Gender discrimination typically
happens when an employee is handled differently by an organization because the worker is a
male or female. There are a broad variety of types of discrimination between men and women.
Gender discrimination includes various forms of treatment by employees and prospective
workers regardless of gender and gender identity. Gender discrimination can take several various
forms. They can deny highly qualified workers and prohibit employees from reaching their
maximum level of success. It can be applied to individuals of any sexuality Discrimination
toward gender may be violent or subtle, and not all that discriminates is apparent on the job.
Females have made it very clear that they are capable of succeeding with the same ability and
performance in all men's efforts; the question of discrimination against women is still a major
issue (Bruce and et. al., 2015). Sexual harassment can also often be applied to men, though
primarily a concern for women. Gender discrimination occurs everywhere at any time, but it
does have far-reaching consequences for women at work. Sexual harassment are an subtle kind
of discrimination against women that involve inappropriate sexual acts that conflict with work,
influence the job of the individual or establish a hostile working environment.

As per viewpoint of PAUL TREVINO (2018) Gender discrimination is correlated with
the problem of equal equality for both male and female workers. Employees face gender
inequality, which has a negative effect on overall result. In general, the effect of discrimination is
negative and can be in the form of stress or depression that significantly affects employee health
and decreases worker performance. This affects employee’s mind, through the psychological
reactivity that negatively affects entire performance. Gender discrimination has been identified to
reduce employee efficiency because they felt de-motivated and disincentive.There are several
forms of discrimination against females and males who are doing the same job, and that is a
difference between the earnings. In particular, it affects the morale of the staff at Arbor City
Hotel, as well as the level of business efficiency. Unequal treatment increases stress level and
gives physical disease more chances. It raises the absenteeism of the workers due to health
problems. It suggests that team members do not perform well and do not work to will the
organizational goals (Dalton and et. al., 2014).
Ways for preventing the workplace from the gender discrimination
According toJess Fuhl (2020) Arbor City Hotel must define appropriate steps in order to
remove discrimination based on gender from work. There are numerous different ways of
discussing them:
Provide training- Staff must recognise and report about discrimination at work, but the
management team must consistently respond to all discriminatory concerns on the same page. It
would also enable staff leaders to pursue constructive training programs on discrimination issues
if management teams are also evaluated. It helps the employee create a productive working
climate and improves productivity and performance. Furthermore, the Arbor City Hotel
management team has also been advised that they need to regularly provide training sessions,
input on working environment.This helps them effectively address discrimination on job and
reduces the adverse effects of these issues on employee performance (Kaushik, Sharma and
Kaushik, 2014).
Reduce gender pay gap- Gender pay gap among women and men is not maintained
unless Business Company maintains an appropriate confidentiality climate. The need to build a
new accessibilities working climate has been said to inspire Arbor City Hotel to address the pay

their current salaries.
Develop diversity from outside-Organizations popular the criteria for years of

Research methods
This is essential investigation part and beneficial to collect and evaluate information to
achieve the established study objective. This analysis uses many methods or tools to gather
reliable research data and information. There has been research onion used and various layers
considered given below:
Research Philosophy-The approach is a means of collecting, applying and evaluating the
data and knowledge related to the needs of the phenomenon. Therefore, a researcher is solely
responsible for choosing the most important theory to support the thesis (Morrow, 2011). This
primarily includes two forms of research approaches, namely positivism and interpritivism. In
conducting current investigation, an investigator uses positivism philosophy to carry out an
investigation in right direction and also analyse opinion of different authors.
Research Approach-In research methodology, two various approaches to analysis,
including inductive or deductive are required. Inductive research methods are focused on
existing evidence and deductive analysis approaches focused on hypothesis-designed hypotheses
and concepts. For this reason, a researcher uses deductive research approach as since it aims to
provide accurate information about the effect on workplace efficiency of gender discrimination.
(Malos, 2015).
Research Choice-This is major step in this direction and helps to determine the nature of
the research work using efficient methods. Qualitative and quantitative are two different research
choices. In this, qualitative depends on knowledge or data quality and on quantitative analysis
focused on statistical methods and expressed in numbers. In this, researcher uses a quantitative
research choice for all of these two separate instruments as it is beneficial to perform a
comprehensive analysis (Offermann and et. al., 2014).
