It is said that the primary reason behind selecting the topic is researchers self interest towards the
talent management as this is one of the most emerging topic at present across the whole
worldwide. Whereas another purpose for finalising this project is to improve self knowledge,
skills and understanding so that the whole research can be concluded in an effective manner and
assist in attaining opportunities in near future related to the same.

Concept and role of talent management
As per the opinion of Branson, 2018, it has been said that there are ample number of functions
which needs to be done by HR manager in an organisation so that they can create positive
atmosphere and attain goals and objectives of the company in an effective manner. Talent
management define as a company’s commitment in order to hire, recruit, develop as well as
retain talented staff members within the workplace. It is a procedure of examining skills,
knowledge and capabilities of employees and manages them so that the goals and objectives of
the company can be attained. Therefore, it has been concluded that, talent management is one of
the most beneficial and useful term mainly adopted by each and every HR manager. This is an
ongoing, continuous and systematic process with the help of which organisation can easily retain
their skilled and talented staff members for a longer period of time. Moreover, it has been also
analysed that all goals and objectives are to be achieved properly. This is done by using
considering the appropriate applications of talent management. Also, decision making is to be
done in proper manner during the process of TM.
Significance of talent management in the overall performance
On the basis of views of Landy and Conte, 2016 it has been said that by adopting or
implementing talent management at the workplace, human resources resource manager will be
able to create positive working environment by retaining, hiring and recruiting new talent at the

talented staff members for a longer period of time so that they can effectively produce favourable
outcomes and develop strong reputation at the competitive marketplace. Talent management is a

entity can easily perform their work at the organization and retain skilled and talented staff
members for longer duration.

various challenges along with benefits and advantages. By implementing talent management
practices at the workplace in an effective manner, it has been concluded that managers get
various benefits which leads towards the attainment of organizational goals and objectives in an
appropriate manner. Some of the benefits gain by hospitality industry by effectively managing
talent at their workplace are going to be discussed as follows:

management, managers of the organisation motivate their staff members on a regular
basis. It is very essential for employees to feel motivated and encouraged so that they can
produce high quality products and services in an effective manner.
