Title: To determine the importance of talent management as a strategic approach in
enhancing employee performance.
INTRODUCTION
Talent management is an activity or process that used by company to hire as well as
retain top talent to ascertaining the vacant position within the business organization. In this, the
main focus of this activity is to recruiting skilled and capable employees so that they can perform
their best to accomplishing their targets (Mensah, 2015). In context of this, there are some
strategic approaches such as effective selection process, performance assessment, best
compensation and rewards that implement by hospitality industry to manage their workforce.
With the help of this, company can easily invite as well as retain capable workers that may
reduce the employee turnover. Current research is based on Hilton hotel, is a famous global
brand that provide hospitality services to its customers as per their requirements. The main focus
of this company is to effectively manage talent that contributes in improving overall performance
of employees and organisation as well.

Rationale of research
The main reason behind selecting this research is to analyse the importance of talent
management that support in improving the quality performance of workers at working area.
Along with this, it also helps investigator to enhance their skills and knowledge towards the
research topic. Along with this, it also provides support or direction to investigator in developing
depth analysis on the basis of particular research topic. This will directly contribute in providing
reliable and valid outcomes at the end of research. By this whole research can be undertaken in
successful manner.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Role of strategic approaches to talent management within the company
According to Al Ariss, Cascio and Paauwe, (2014), strategic approaches to talent
management play a significant role in developing as well as motivating workforce towards the
set targets. This can be contributes in improving the performance level of company by retaining
employees for longer period of time. In context of this, there are some effective strategic
approaches like performance assessment that help in analysing the workers productivity towards
the organisational goals and objectives. Along with this, effective selection process also consider
as an effective way that support in increasing skills and knowledge of employees that help in
accomplishing all the set goals and objectives in stipulated time frame. All these are directly
contributes in managing the talent and at the same time also reduce employee turnover.

As per the view point of Oladapo, (2014), management of talent is significant for
company as it help in increasing overall productivity level. With the help of this, firm can easily
make strong workforce that contributes a lot in attaining success at working area. This will
support in increasing profitability level of company at market place. As there are some
importance of talent management like it help in inviting top talent, retain them for longer period
of time. It directly contributes in improving business performance by reducing its employee
turnover. Along with this, proper management of talent is also support in making employee
engaged and efficient towards the organisational goals that assist in developing positive working

environment wherein employees perform their best. This will directly contributes in achieving

Challenges faced by Hilton hotel while managing workforce at working area
According to Kontoghiorghes, (2016), while managing workforce, organisation face
various issues and challenges that negatively affect the organisational performance. If employees
are not effectively managed then that fail in attaining their targets. In this regards, there are
various challenges such as increased in employee turnover, ineffective leadership, lack of proper
coordination and many more. These are put negative impact over the company and its employees
as well. Thus, it is crucial for business organisation to manage entire activities of employees and
provide them better direction. It support in improving the positive and competitive image of
company and also support in making strong workforce.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This section plays a crucial role in undertaking research activities in systematic manner.
It also includes different methods and techniques that used by investigator to gather relevant data
and information about selected research topic. This will directly contribute in improving the

Data sources: In research, various sources are there such as primary and secondary
method of data. Both methods are play crucial role in gathering accurate information about
research topic. In this regards, primary source provides fresh and first-hand information which is
authentic in nature. On the other side, secondary source considers various sources such as books,
journals, articles, magazines and many more. For this investigation both data source is applied in
which primary method support in preparing questionnaire and secondary assist in undertaking
literature review. These are directly contributing in attaining positive outcomes.
Sampling: This is considered as a process of selecting sample size from the large
population with the aim of gathering relevant data. It classified on the basis of two techniques
such as probabilistic and non-probabilistic. In this research, investigator will select probabilistic

sampling technique to choose sample size. By using this, researcher choose 50 people as a
sample as per random basis. In this all the selected respondents get equal chances to be selected.
Data collection tools: It is important for investigator to use best suitable tool for
collecting data. It includes interview, questionnaire, focus study and many more. All these are
used in gathering relevant and accurate information about the research topic. In this
questionnaire will be applied by investigator as it provides valid and reliable information.
Ethics: While undertaking research, investigator needs to ensure that entire activities
should be completed in ethical manner and also follow all the certain principles. As it supports in
reducing any kind of risk factor and at the same time also make research more effective.
DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION
This chapter is also important as it assist in analysing collected data with the aim of
drawing a valid conclusion at the end of the research. Mainly, it includes primary source that
contributes in attaining positive outcomes.
