INTRODUCTION Discrimination at workplace is considered as one of the most important issue which being seen across the world in different manner. Gender discrimination is acknowledged as one of the most important issues among them all as it is affecting morale of individual at constant basis and affecting their working practices (Koch, D'Mello and Sackett, 2015).The present investigation has been conducted on Waitrose, a British Supermarket which mainly deals in groceries. The company was incorporated in the year 1904 and headquartered inBracknell, Victoria, England. It is the subsidiary of John Lewis Partnership. This investigation will going to cover detailed information on the present stated issue that is Gender based discrimination at workplace and its core influence over employees’ performance. Also, it will provide most appropriate suggestions through which gender discrimination at workplace could be eliminated effectively. In order to do so in most adequate manner appropriate methodology would be selected effectively. This investigation would be highly important for the management team of Waitrose, its employees and other businesses who are also facing issues related to gender discrimination. By attaining thisknowledgebusinesseswouldeasilyprovidesupporttobusinessesincreatingbetter environmenttoworkwithoutinclusionofanysortofgenderdiscriminatorypracticeat workplace.

It has also been identified that gender discriminationreduces the performance of employees as they feel demotivated and does not perform in an effective and appropriate manner. As a result, it helps businesses enhancing their profitability in rapid manner. Recommendations From the overall information specified in this research project, it has been analysed that businesses are getting highly affected due to discriminatory activities at workplace especially gender based discrimination. In order to provide proper guidance to the businesses, there are some recommendations provided to the top management of Waitrose with which they can easily eliminate gender discrimination at workplace. All of them are specified as below: At first, it is advised to manager to conduct few training and development sessions through which they can develop knowledge of the employees’ regarding the ways in which they can face discrimination at workplace. This directly helps them out in taking rightful measure in order to take strict action regarding the same by filing complaint against it. At next, it is suggested to the top management team to revise their existing policies and include some of the equality policies along with the higher penalties so that they can easily eliminate gender discrimination from the company. At last, it is recommended to the company to conduct an effective investigation within the company only so that they can identify different discrimination at workplace so that strict action can be taken towards the same in effective manner. Evaluation From the overall experience related to the investigation, it can be said that I have gone through numerous of phases which have ultimately taught me several things in terms of skills, knowledge and development. For conducting this investigation in effective manner, I have made 17
use of several methods in order to execute it in rightful manner and accomplish outcome in quicker manner. In order to gather information on the proposed topic, I have used both the primary and secondary form of data collection method so that maximum information on same could be obtained and valid outcome towards it can be drawn. The overall information gathered from this would be further analysed with the usage of quantitative method. By evaluating effectiveness of this method it can be said that these methods were highly effective but syill they were having some limitation too. Like questionnaire method does not allowed respondents to express their view point openly. In order to do so effectively the investigator would definitely go for interview method in the near future as it supports in attaining maximum information from respondents by simply providing complete freedom to them. 18
