The main purpose behind selecting this topic for performing investigation is that it support
researcher in developing understanding regarding several type of equality and diversity
practices along with the ways in which it reduce the workplace discrimination activities.
Despite of this it also support Cadbury in understanding the importance of workplace equality
in term of organisational growth and success. Additionally, when this study get published it
can also be used for academic purpose also where students are being taught about ethical
workplace practices that help in developing better future workforce that believes in
collectivism practices.

Importance of equality and diversity within an organisation
According to the view point of Louise Petty., 2016, equality and diversity plays a significant
role within the growth and success of an organization and ensure formation of a culture at
workplace where each individual get equal chance to access opportunity instead of getting
affected by the any kind of prejudices and discrimination. It brings several benefits to an
organization as employing people belong to different culture support a business to get diverse
language skill and support in performing business practices at international level by using
knowledge of those employees. Additionally the management of diverse workforce also
support in enhancing creativity as people belongs to different background adopt different
approach to deal with a task or problem.
Challenges that Cadbury may face due to workplace discrimination
As per the view point of Ruggs, E. N. and et. al., 2015, workplace is consider as an
environment where people having different communication style, personality and world-view
mainly interacts for performing their work. These differences are consider as potential source
of workplace discrimination as people find harder to accept one another's culture. This
ultimately leads to tension, stress for those that are involved in these practices. In addition to
this it also result into interpersonal conflicts that affect the environment as well as quality of
work by affecting mental fitness of employees. It also affect the motivation of employees in

term of their work, performance etc. and directly leads to job dissatisfaction.
Relation between equality and diversity practices and reduction of workplace discrimination
According to the view point of Bond, M. A. and Haynes, M. C., 2014, equality and diversity
practices plays a significant role in keeping the employees satisfied with their working
environment as well as manafgemnet under which they are working. This is so beacuse by
adopting practices related with equality and diversity it get ensured that employees will get
equal chance to perform their work, get access to new opportunities, get fair remunerations
etc. Thsi in turn help in developing a culture of equality which further avoide the situation
where employees get discriminated by others. Hence it support in reducing the workplace
discrimination by imposing the equality and diversoty practices.

Research methodology is consider as crucial part of an investigation that
detail about set of tools and techniques to be used for gathering,
representing and interpreting the information effectively, so that
appropriate outcome can be achieved. The tools and techniques for this
investigation are mentioned below:
Research design:- The research design involves decision regarding the
format of performing an investigation. Research designs are of three type
such as descriptive, exploratory and experimental. Among them
descriptive research design will be taken into consideration as it support
in providing the information in detailed and more descriptive manner.
Type of Research:- An investigation is mainly performed using two
methods such as qualitative and quantitative. For performing this study
quantitative method will be taken into consideration as it support in
evaluating the numerical data much effectively that help in extracting
most accurate data.
Research Approach: The research approaches are basically those
techniques which help in effectively analysing the gathered data. There
are mainly two type of research approach used by an investigator i.e.
inductive and deductive. Among them deductive approach will be used as
it support in evaluating quantitative data effectively.
Sources of data collection : It refers to the sources that are used to
collect information about particular area of study. An investigation mainly
involve two sources of data collection such as primary and secondary. For

performing this study both sources will be used, where primary
information will be gathered with the help of questionnaire as it help in
collecting huge data in less time. On other side secondary information will
be gathered using online sources such as journals, books, articles etc. as
it provide with authenticated and updated data.
Sampling :- It refers to the process of selecting group of people in order
to gather information regarding current area of study on behalf of whole
population. There are two methods used for performing sampling such as
probabilistic and non-probabilistic. Among them probabilistic approach
will be used as it support in avoiding bias behaviour from researcher for
selecting respondents. For this study 50 employees will be selected for
gathering information.
