REFLECTIVE REPORT
In a successful group project or presentation, equal efforts of all the members has been
required to accomplish the work. Team work is considered as an effective approach for the
achievement of goals and objectives in effective manner and also, it is essential to enhance the
performance, cohesiveness in a group and used to maintain a proper culture (Potter, 2015). In the
group presentation, me and my team of eight personnel was told to develop a presentation on the
topic of exploring management in order to analyse key aspects of management. There was also
case based on a film named coach carter and for the completion of presentation, we have
analysed the film. At the initial stages of films, it was difficult for our team members to
accomplish the task as no communication was there between us. Group meeting was organized
in our campus where all the members were arrived for making discussion about the project and
roles were divided to each member. After completion of our group presentation through several
steps which include effective research practices, completion of first draft and the
accomplishment of final presentation then we all together have presented in front of our
seminar . Every team member has contributed effectively in our team task and I also had a major
contribution in research and completion of first draft. I have made a contributed in completion of
final presentation. In whole project, I feel that all the task have been completed successfully
without any real chaos and tensions among the group members.
Using the Gibbs’s reflective model, in order to define the experience which I had while
working in team which is needed to enhance my learning. On the basis of this cycle, I have
determined my experience in six stages like description, feelings, evaluation, analysis,
conclusion and action (Models for structuring reflection, 2017). At the first stage of our
presentation all member were not have completed an effective task as there were effective
communication was there but further we have organized a group meeting in which each member
has given introduction and also made an positive interaction with each other. With the
appropriate discussion, tasks were assigned to each member and I have got a responsibility to be
a part of research and compilation of the final draft. One of the major circumstance was occurred
between the two members as they were not able communicate with each other due to language
barrier.

At the time presentation, I have though that I would be difficult to complete the
presentation as ll the member was from different background and culture. That circumstance
have created a feeling of threat but the scenario has been changed after making a group
discussion and all the members were have decided to accomplish the task effectively by making
effective research practices and analysis of the film. This has changed my perception and made
me believe that we will complete the presentation effectively. In evaluation stage, I have
analysed that coordination and mutual understanding between team members was very important
for making the research. But there are some difficulties have faced by group was from two
members which has created some problems in accomplishing the task and wasted time. To
resolve these problems, there was need of improvement in delegation of responsibility.
In analysis stage, we have applied our conceptual and practical knowledge in completion
of project and the main similarities was that all the member have equally contributed towards the
project by using same research methods and was focused on the completion of project before
deadline. The difference between us was the thinking related to presentation as some our
members was only required to complete the project rather than achievement of prize or
recognition (Husebø, O'Regan and Nestel, 2015). Before submission, there was also some need
of changes which have been made by the members equally. Problems have been arisen in
communication and discussion with that two members which has made an impact on task and
wasted time. I have made an effective contribution and also managed the resources required to
complete the presentation. Strategies we have used were making effective communication and
delegation of task on the basis of skills and knowledge of team members. Further, in this group
task, it has been concluded that effective coordination among team members is needed to
complete the roles and responsibilities. I have also analysed that there was the need of change in
delegation of responsibility as members have difficulties in the accomplishment of task.
Therefore, responsibilities needed to be delegated on the basis of experience and skills. In the
future, if this situation has been arisen we will need to apply this procedure and do not provide
combine task to members with different backgrounds.
