Reflective Journal
Documenting this personal reflection has contributed to the way I present my ideas, learning
outcomes, and personal experiences in a logical manner. This reflective journal is an account
of my experience of working in a group. While working on a Hotel and Hospitality
assignment recently, I have gained a number of positive learning experiences that have
helped me improve my knowledge. Additionally, working in a group that has not only
improved the way I coordinate with my team members but also how to resolve conflicts and
challenges that may arise while working in teams. By the end of the assignment, I believe that
the hard work and effort we put in together as a team definitely helped us achieve the
expected results for our project.
The group assignment helped me gain a better understanding and improved my insights about
the benefits and challenges of working together with different individuals. When we started
working on the assignment, it was difficult to merge everybody's ideas and thoughts into our
presentation, as the topic was vast and my team members had diverse and unique ideas to
facilitate the completion of our project. However, with each team meeting that took place, it
became easier to understand the differences that were arising as a result of differences in
thoughts and ideas. The first meeting was probably the longest that took us because we had
just started working as a group and were in the initial stages of our project, which caused
discrepancies in allocating tasks and responsibilities. However, the coordination and mutual
understanding that my team members showed towards each other immensely helped us
establish a gradual flow to complete the presentation. I was relieved at the politeness and
respect that every member showed, which I think was one of the strongest characteristics of
our group.
