Executive Summary
The paper explores the fashion Supply Chain Performance and Financial Analysis of
Patagonia. The brand focused on in this study is apparel clothing products. There existed a store
of Patagonia in Portland located in the rehabilitated warehouse developed in 1895 till when it
moved to the current place in 2017. However, the product line of Patagonia developed in order to
add on the apparel towards other activities especially surfing. On the perspective of
environmental sourcing, it is evident that Patagonia commits only 1% of this sales to the groups
in the environment by using 1% of the Planet whereby the company of which the founder got a
member. The financial analysis of the company was analyzed using ROA, SWOT analysis and
summary of financial metrics. The study found out that, the company grows rapidly by 25% on
the annual basis. Also, the study highlighted about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
the threats of Patagonia. One of the strong weakness or threat arising to the company is the
competition emanating from companies dealing in the same products. The paper gives the
literature about some relevant content outcomes such as global sourcing and others. The study
concluded that the evaluation shows that Patagonia shows totally no signs of operating in
negative direction and nether the founder does. The company is recommended to focus on the
implementation of strategies that boost global fashion supply chain. This therefore improves on
the efficiency and popularity in branding the apparel or clothing products around the globe. In
addition, the company should focus in diversifying its market through introduction of other
brands other than those emanating from organic cotton. This will multiply its revenue growth
rate from 25% annually to another positive reasonable values.

1.1. Introduction
The company chosen in this case is Patagonia and the brand product is Outdoor apparel
(clothing). Patagonia is an American clothing company which sells and markets outdoor
clothing. The company was propounded by YvonChouinard in the year 1973 and currently based
in Ventura in California. The founder of Patagonia (YvonChouinard) accomplished the climbing
rock which began the selling of the forged mountain climb gears in 1957 by using his company
equipment (Abend, 2017). The Founder worked alone in selling the gears up to 1965 when he
merged with Tom Frost for the reason of improving the products and solving the growing
demand and supply matters he used to face (Brun et al, 2011). In 1970, Yvon acquired rugby
shirts from Scotland that he used to wear since the collar could not hurt his neck while climbing
the sling. Besides, the iron ore works in great pacific was at the first store of Patagonia which
opened in 1973 found in Hobson especially at meat packaging plant at Santa Clara found at
Ventura near blacksmith shop (Eysenbach, 2014). Furthermore, Patagonia and Chouinard in
1984 incorporated within the works of great pacific iron (Abend, 2017). However, the product
line of Patagonia developed in order to add on the apparel towards other activities especially
surfing. Besides, clothing in Patagonia provide goods like backpacks, camping bags and sleeping
bags. In 2017, certain merchandise of Patagonia which is in good conditions can be brought back
for the merchandise credit that are new. In order to evaluate the financial analysis and supply
chain performance of Patagonia, the data was got from the company’s Financial year statement
reports using secondary data for the summary metrics.
