INTRODUCTION
Supply Chain management is a process of handling flow of goods and services including the
process of raw materials to delivering the final product to customers. Supply chain management
includes planning, designing, execution, monitoring and controlling the activities of supply chain
in order to create net value, synchronize supply with demand, building a competitive
infrastructure and measuring performance globally. The Supply chain management shows the
ability and efforts of suppliers to create and implement supply chains in the Company that are
economical and efficient (Seuring and et. al., 2020). Supply chain management is link to
production, shipping and distribution of goods and services to people. When Organisation
maintains its supply chain unit it helps in reducing the high cost and delivers the products faster
and quickly to customers. But it can be possible if company have tighter control on their internal
inventories, distribution, inventories of company vendors, sales and internal production. The
report is based on supply chain management which includes supply chain relationships, supply
information systems, procurement and outsourcing and sustainability of an organisation
(Daneshvar Kakhki and Gargeya, 2019). The Chosen Company for this report is Aston Martin; it
is one of the luxurious sports car brand which was founded by Robert Bamford and Lionel
Martin in 1913. Aston Martin is known for its beautiful colour and designs that attracts
customers to buy the cars. The Company wants to become a well known on the motor racing
circuit, they even produce formula one debut but things didn’t go according to the plan. In 1959,
they failed to make successful cars. Now the things going flawlessly, Aston Martin become one
of the renowned brands in the World.
Supply Chain relationship
Aston Martin targets flexible supply chain management they have 302 direct suppliers
whereas 126 indirect suppliers. The Company is boosting its supply chain unit in its domestic
market in order to increase its sales and growth. They are looking to improve the flexibility and
sustainability in its UK supply chain. As increase in UK contribution can help in meeting the
criteria of quality, environmental, risk and cost management (Mehdikhani and Valmohammadi,
2019). The Organisation is focusing on its local suppliers as they think that they have a
capability to provide additional benefit of flexibility. In UK, Aston Martin deals with more than
150 suppliers and remaining are spread across the rest of the North America, Asia-pacific and
