Individual are being helped by the social care workers and their families for both of the
sides whether it is practical or it is emotional and thus by that they can live a comfortable life.
Help by the workers within social care home provide social, physical, emotional support the
customers specially who are poor, disabled and senior citizens (Shardlow and et. al., 2015).
Number of services are being provided by NHS for the employees so that care can be taken of
the patients. Through services help is being provided for the youngsters and family for
supporting person.
TASK 1
P1 Identify roles of non direct care employees
Non direct workers are the staff members who are not being appointed for the specific
location for caring people. Organisation is being served by them but they are involved within the
certain job. There are number of no0n direct care who look out of the care home and they are
being described below: Laundry/cleaning staff- These type of individuals mainly look out after cleaning up of
residents suite, washing,c hanging the beds and lounge neatly. They are highly
necessary as they clean the care home for higher satisfaction which is required. Managers- There are some of the skill which are being possessed by them which mainly
involves communication, confidence, self management, responsibility and business
skills. It is being ensured that the entire care home which should be run in smooth
manner along with activities and operations (Knott, and Scragg, 2016). Catering staff- The main duty of the catering employees is to prepare and serve the food
to the residents and thus maintain the hygienic factor within the kitchen for the patients. Maintenance- Employees are being maintained by NHS for developing and formulating
so that the mistakes can be corrected along with the barriers.
 Pharmacists- This kind of factor is highly essential for every care home as they mainly
give services regarding medication for enhancing the health and keep the health
maintained. There are some of the access minor injuries for wellness of people.

P2 Outline the interpersonal skills required for non direct care workers
There are number of various interpersonal skills which are being needed for non direct
workers which are described below: Verbal communication skills- There are number of factors which entirely depend on the
effective verbal communication and this kind of element can not be detached from
required interpersonal skill which mainly compiles of non verbal communication,
listening skills and utilisation of slag. This method is being utilised by them for better
interaction in better and effective manner. Non verbal communication skills- This can be stated as skills of communication where
an individual mainly interacts through gesture, body language, presentation, dress and
expression of face and may others. This kind of skill is being utilised by some of the
workers in NHS for better communication.
 Application of care values- In this kind of approach, non direct workers mainly
establishes that the values and beliefs for taking care of patients. Along with that it is
needed for promoting the equality and thus maintaining the diversity for the company.
Promotion should be done by non direct workers for individual so that patients can be
taken care of in better manner (Cameron and et. al., 2014). It is highly essential for care
employees in regulating the communication skills, diversity, equality and other rights in
better and efficient manner.

The role of the groups and teams are described below:
 Managers- Major duty of the manager is to bring cooperation and coordination among
the team members so that certain aims and objectives can be attained in better and
effective manner. Focus of the managers should be on maintaining all the activities
along with determination of best staff member who can bring expected outcomes.
 Health and care workers- They are the essential factor of the NHS care home where
stability within operations is must. Major duty of the workers is to look out for the
patients who suffer from the disease. Better supervision is being given to the workers
within the team and thus build better team.

 Non direct care workers colleagues- Maintaining the essential factors within the
company along with its operations is the major duty non direct workers. It is highly
essential to take care of all the patients who are suffering from disease (Jones, 2014).
Effective and best services should be provided for betterment of health.
 Volunteers- These kind of individual who mainly provides services within the care
home and provide help in treatment, care people's and thus provide help in gaining
good result and effective result for number of people.
Purpose of team working: Provide an integrated services- Major purpose of the non direct workers regarding the
team working for gaining the advanced services and facilities. NHS mainly provides
integrated health and social care community services and thus develops the abilities and
skills in order to treat all the patients. Give safe and inclusive services- Safety is being provided by the care workers safety and
security for the patients where they mainly feel safe and thus promote the inclusive
services for enhancing the health (Kadushin and Harkness, 2014).
 Develop effective relationship- The major motive of the team working is building and
developing the strong relationship among the care home workers and patients. In order to
develop the better relation, main duty is of fulfilling all the needs and wants of the
patients.

P4 Describe role of non direct workers in maintaining safety, health and security in caring
environment
Within NHS, it is needed for maintaining the health in the caring environment and those
are described below: Follow hand hygiene process- Major duty of the non direct care workers is for
maintaining the health services for the caring environment in better manner. In order to
prevent the harmful diseases, various precautions should be taken before eating food. It
is the duty of care workers for washing all the patients before eating.
 Maintain high level of cleanliness- Major role of the care staff is for keeping cleanliness
within the building so that hygienic can be maintained.
Maintain safety in caring environment

 Safe storage and disposal of waste products- Care workers should secure some of the
storage room and thus discard wastage goods from outside of care homes.
 Use of substances hazardous to health- Adoption of latest technology and other tools
utilisation is done by the manager with the motive of securing the people from diseases
(Lloyd-Evans and et. al., 2014).
Maintain security in the caring environment: Ensure unsecure area should out of bounds- It is highly essential for care workers for
keeping confidential area which mainly includes the store rooms.
 Make sure entry and exit process are follow- This can be stated as major role of the care
staff members in order to ensure that the patients and their relatives should follow the
protocol and norms of company.
P5 Importance of management and supervision in the development of non direct workers
There are number of purposes for maintaining the supervision and management which
are described below: Promote and maintain good practice- It is highly essential for the non direct workers for
maintaining and promoting the effective services within the company. Provide training- In order to provide the training sessions for the care worker, it is
needed to have experienced coach who can develop and enhance the skills and abilities.
 Develop relationship- Management and supervision mainly needs non direct employees
who can develop strong and sound relation with the patients for better manner
