INTRODUCTIONTeamwork and leadership are two different virtues which are strongly associated in thebusiness, military and volunteerism. This is easily stated that leader lead at the time, teams arefollow leaders for achieving set goals and objectives in better manner. The report is based onSainsbury company which is second largest chain of supermarket in the United Kingdom with16.9% of market share (Chin, 2015). The main purpose of this assignment is that company leaderneed to understand the management and different leadership theories. Also they require toimprove in their motivation and performance with the using of application of correct skill ofleadership. TASK 11.1 Discuss the features of effective working team as per Belbin's team role theoryFor mentor, it is required to make effective working team who are doing work forachieving desired goals and objectives in better manner. They need to make strong relationshipwith their employees and faster the teamwork. The Belbin's team role is described as under:Shaper role – In a team, shaper role is performing or conduct by mentor who are alwayschange their nature as per the situation. When they are facing some issue, shapersmaintain positive attitude towards team members and identify the best way forovercoming with such problems. Implementer role – A leader or mentor play role as implementer in the team and they arepractical, well organised and efficient in nature.Finisher role – In Sainsbury, the main feature of effective working team as a finisherwho are perform role for detect errors and barriers and try to make sure that team arematch to their final deadlines (Cornthwaite, Edwards and Siassakos, 2013).Coordinator role – In the company, mentor as consider as coordinator who are confidentand mature in nature and have effective listening skill. Team worker role – A mentor need to play role as a team worker through which they canresolve major issues and problems that affects the dynamic teams. Resource investigator role – In an organisation, mentor require to play role asinvestigator where they are exploring their employee’s skills and abilities for doing work.

Evaluator role – The evaluator is those people who are critical thinker in a team. Theyare serious and caution in nature while making any decision for the company. Specialist role- A mentor should be specialist in their field for delivering specificknowledge and information to their employees. Plants role- The mentor are considering as plants who are innovative member of the teamand make unique type of services for the customers (Fraher, 2011). 1.2 Evaluate their own team role and skills as a team member in specific contextIn the Sainsbury organisation, role of mentor as a coordinator and finisher where they areevaluating errors and barriers which occurs and make issues in huge manner. As a finisher, theyare analysing each employee’s skills and knowledge according to this, assigning work or task forachieving set goals and objectives. For an enterprise, mentor or leader require to maintainteamwork which enhance in their profitability level. Skill is required because this is necessaryfor an individual is to perform effective work in an organisation. Along with this, teamwork is the process where large number of team member areperforming work for achieving towards set goals and targets of the company. For business, it isrequired for firm is to maintain teamwork among its employees which help them in reachingwith company goals in better manner. 1.3 Compare and contrast theories of team development according to Tuckman and twomotivation theoristsEvery specialist has their own perception towards specific subject such as; number ofauthors have expressed their opinions on team development and encouragement. According tothe Tuckman approach an organization needs to assist their group in systematic manner forenhancing the performance of every team member. Basically, leaders need to follow the propersteps which begins from; Forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. It means,leaders are liable for encouraging their staff members towards personal and professional goals ina defined time period (Hunziker and et. al., 2011).
