Introduction
The accommodation sector is one
of the largest sector in industry of
tourism, which is rendering wealth
to the employees in order to assist
them in working in dynamic and
diversified sector.

Hospitality industry and contribution of
accommodation sector
The accommodation services are mainly focused on providing services
of staying, services of providing food and beverages so that to give best
experience to their staying guests. The key emphasis of accommodation
services is to render effective staying facilities to the customer in order
to provide them best facilities during their vacations.

Different types of accommodation
services
Various types of accommodation services are introduced by hospitality
sector in order to assist tourist and their guest to choose among verity of
services which get fit in their budget and other requirements.
Hotels: These are huge set ups which includes larger quantity of
rooms and huge employees size which are engaged on numerous
departments so as to assist guest.

Guest houses: These set ups are
providing private accommodation houses
to their guests. These are having low cost
as rents and they render very less services
to their customer when compared with
hotel services.

Various forms of ownership in
accommodation services
Sole proprietorship: In this kind
of ownership form an
individual is accountable for
operations of all the internal
activities. Under this that
individual is responsible to
bear all the risks and taking all
the rewards.

Role of grading, classification system while
making bookings
Grading and classification in an accommodation sector is a deciding
factor of standards of hotel services which is available for the guests
as per their expectation and needs. For the business and leisure
tourists grading is having essential role. The major emphasis of
grading system in hotels is to aware the guests in terms of quality and
facilities provided by different hotels so as to maintain transparency
and make proper flow of information.

Role of online review sites
Online review sites generates larger influence on process of decision
making of a guest so that to choose a hotel among various options
pertaining in the marketplace. Customer may leave their comment on
these sites about their experiences of stay in the hotels. As with
reference to stay experience ratings are given to the hotels on review
sites so as to guide future guests about the services of the hotels and
their quality and standards as per their need and requirements.

Functions of front office with reference of
various accommodation providers
The front office is an essential department ion accommodation industry
as this department is responsible for every initial working in the hotel.
This department is known as face for the public which represents the
overall organisation and provide guidance to all the department such
as food and beverage department, finance department and
housekeeping department. Various function of front office with
reference to various accommodation providers are explained as
below:

Roles of front office within hotels
The front office of Hilton plays an important role in the hotel so as to
monitor and control all the working inside a hotel. Some role of front
department is explained as under:
Creation of database of customer: Front office department is having
role to prepare database of the customer who have used their services
that mean who have stayed in that hotel at any point of time so that to
convey any offers to their customer with a view to give them
privilege.

Handling and coordinating guest services: Front office department is
the initiator of handling customer request so as to avoid any
inconvenience which can b experienced by their guests. Along with
this front office coordinates with other functional department so as to
solve customer problem in a sequential and considerable manner.

Conclusion
From the above PPT it can be deduced that numerous accommodation
services are prevailing in the market with numerous forms of ownership
due to which customer are having option to choose the most suitable
mode and services as per their need and budget. Further the grading and
classification systems are helpful for the customer in such a way that
they can decide their hotel stay as per the standard of hotel and their own
needs. Along with this, this PPT provides importance of front office in a
hotel so that to have proper control over the organisation and run
business smoothly without any uncertainty.
