Title
A study to assess the exploration of a novice outlook of care home management in terms of
people and leader management in an innovative manner while applying new tactics and
strategies.
Overview
Care home can be defined as the small institution which provides the resident for
accommodation in order to care for people who are disable or enable to look after themselves. It
is somewhat similar to the nursing home but there is a difference between Nursing Home and
care home and the difference is that residential care home provide 24 hours a day by train care
assistance. And Nursing care home provide 24 hours per day by registered nurses who are
supported by care assistants. Care home management can be defined as the handling of such
institution in which people are needed to be care and handle with love and respect and taking
care of them against all their diseases either physically or mentally. Basically the management
can be defined as the systematic way of running the organisation so that the stakeholders
involved in the organisation could be well organised and work for the institution. Such
management needs the proper strategies or tactics so that it can be managed in in a potential
manner with an appropriate functionality of it. Old management strategies were the normal
management where people and operations were managed but the new management strategies are
also involved in the procedures and policies of the organisation which is highly essential to be
managed in an effective and efficient manner for the organisation. Generally old management
strategies are adopted by the novice outlook of any organisation such as care home management
but if the organisation learn how to execute and plan the strategic management in its Institution,
it can become the great institution in terms of implementation of strategic management in an
organisation. Therefore, the following discussion is based on the existing management strategies
which has negatively affected the care home management's working, what is the need for change
in the outlook of the care home management techniques, new management tactics which can
positively impact the care home Management's operation and effectiveness of fresh management
approaches that can vendor advantage to the care home management functionality with proper
findings and conclusion (Burton and Guthrie, 2018).

Need of the study
Need of the study of exploration of a novice outlook of care home management in terms of
people and leader management in an innovative manner while applying new tactics and
strategies is important because until and unless the existing management strategies are not
changed by the institution it cannot grow and develop therefore in order to grow and develop of
the care for management it is important for them to adopt and follow the new management
strategies so that they can even concentrate more towards the people in taking care of them and
finding out the ways of how they can interact with these people and make their life a better one.
Search management tactics are not only important to grow and develop and to meet new people
but also it is important so that the institution can be expended in more places so that more people
can get help in such institutions. That is why it is founded that study of this topic is important
and required for the people who are living in the Institutions and who are seeking such
institutions (Fisher, Edwards, Pärn and Aigbavboa, 2018).

JUSTIFICATION
Justification of such study of the care home management in a strategic management instead
of novice Outlook, because it can help the institution in discharging the board responsibility and
delegating it to the subordinates in order to take the accountability of the people who are under
them (Jones, Bronskill, Agarwal and Costa, 2019). Moreover, this study provides the Framework
for decision making in an institution not only for the board members but also for the employees
who are working under them and the people who are living under observation. Another
justification is that it supports the understanding among the employers and employees in order to
better handle and manage the whole institution with the best style of leadership and
Management. It also enables the measurement of progression of the employees and the
employers and other different stakeholders who are involved in such project so that improvement
can occur in the next time implementation of the operations. Therefore, all such justifications are
the evidences because of which does study is performed from old management to the new
strategic management in the institution (Griffiths, Kelley, Garrod and Surr, 2019).

LITERATURE REVIEW
Existing management strategies in care home management
Existing management strategies in care home management are typically 3 in number. First
is the military style of Management which describe the top down positional authority which
means that what the leader says that must be followed just like an autocratic style. For example,
if there is any complaint from any of the person about the treatment is not done in a better way
then they complain to the operation level employees but not the leaders. Which is considered
wrong because leader level employees are only responsible for the services they are providing to
the people (Bunn, Lynch, Goodman and Froggatt, 2018). This approach built up the little or
ownership of the Institution because everyone was the leader dependent employees. Leaders has
created the work environment that does not built any trust for teamwork and collaboration.
Moreover, it misses out the valuable insights and contributions that leaders often cannot see.
Second is the style which is an unattainable results-driven which describe that attaining the
desired results can be harder when employee is not comfortable and feels restricted in the
Institution. If every employee is afraid of making mistakes or overhead about who will get the
credit of good idea, then these are the signs that the institution is lead using this management
style. This nature defines the competition among employees that who will treat and care better
the patients and get the rewards accordingly. Third is the formalized performance reviews which
describes the reviews which only happens at consistent and predictable times per annum which
results the diminishing value of the feedback. Regular enhancement only happens with the
regular feedback because if the leader Learns that an employee or a team how to achieve a goal
then there is no reason to wait for two months to tell them about it (Elbilgahy, El Sayed and El
Aziz, 2018). Moreover, the care home management does not use any Technical Services in order
to manage its operations while treating the people in their institutions. In today's world this is the

to manage its operations while treating the people in their institutions. In today's world this is the
4
most important thing to use so that everything could be managed in an accurate and appropriate
manner. Now a day’s technology is accelerating in a very good pace but institution does not use
any online services order digital platform in order to market its institution services which is
considered the most outdated style of Management. Care home management has a large number
of data in which the information about the employers and employees and more over the
customers are recorded and the disastrous thing is that all such large amount of data is handled in
a manual way which is a time consuming and an expensive process. Here comes the need of the
study of exploring the novice outlook of care home management because it is known that
fresher’s organisation which is not an experienced one and not an expert in handling the
institutions in such a strategic management always face such outdated management styles. And
then after sometime they face problems in management and operations which is not considered
an effective functionality of the institution. When the institution has started they were able to
handle all the management activities because initially they were operating at beginner level but
now they are operating at National level so it is important for them to transform their
management activities to the new point that is in a strategic manner (Joosen, Piette, Buekers and
De Boever, 2019). Therefore, all such management Strategies for existing in the care home
management because of which the organisation is facing the problems and they are needed to be
updated with the new management style in the institution.
Need for change in the outlook of care home management
There are various reasons which arises the need for change in the outlook of care home
management. First reason is the long decision making time what means that the institution has
adopted the traditional management style which results in the time consuming decision-making
for example if a people requires something today on an urgent basis then he or she will receive
two or three days later. This is considered not only the carelessness but also the poor
management style adoption by the institution (Beare, Caldwell and Millikan, 2018). Second is
the message distortion which means that traditional management style used by the institution
uses the top-down approach to convey the message if any requirement is asked by the people or
the employees who are working at operational level. Message which is passed from top to down
or from down to bottom is distorted in a very hilarious manner. This has resulted in the poor
management and operations in the institution. Third reason is the lack of individual authority
which means that traditional structure assigns the authority to the post on which the person is

which means that traditional structure assigns the authority to the post on which the person is
5
working rather than the individual. This describes that an individual manager does not own any
respect. They inherit it. The situation in the institution is not at all normal but is considered as the
partial form of the management which is considered at the lowest level of management anyone
can adopt. Fourth reason is the inability to adapt globally which means that until and unless the
institution will not leave the old style of Management then they can never operate their
institution in an international form which means that a growth and development is restricted
(Afuah, 2020). 5th reason is the low creativity because they believe in the rigid management
style not to change at any cost even if it is the time of creativity or innovation in the institution.
Six reason is the communication problem which means that institution was facing the high
communication problem among their internal as well as external stakeholders because they have
restricted the communication hierarchy in the Institution and only formal type of communication
is allowed which cannot be possible if institution wants to grow. Seventh reason is the high cost
which means that there were a lot of expenses institution was facing because of the old
management style they have adopted because not only it consumes time and energy but also the
cost as well. Eighth reason is the less happenings which means that if employers and employees
are only not happy with the management style and operations in the Institution then they won't
be able to give happiness to the people to whom they are treating physically and mentally (Shaw,
Borrel, Sabbaghan and Claydon, 2019). All the reasons which are mention in order to change the
outlook of care home management from old managements style to the new management style are
totally evidenced and justified. Because such management style which the institution has already
adopted has proved to be the old as per the literature and these management styles are adopted by
the old organisations who do not want to transform but the institutions who Aspire to transform
their management in terms of their services they are providing to the people should definitely
adopt the new management style that is the strategic management which is necessary and
essential for the organisations who want to grow and develop in order to expand at national or
international level. All such reasons are enough to demonstrate the transformation of care home
management from its novice outlook to the expert outlook (Afuah, 2020).
New management tactics in care home management
New management tactics that must be applied in the care home management should be the
strategic management which involves the Lots of practices which provides benefits to the
stakeholders of the institution either the employers or employees or the people who are living in

the Institution. First management solution for the care home management can be empowering of
employees in order to be the part of the process which means that delegating some roles and
responsibilities to the Employees in terms of giving rights of decision making so that they can
feel that they are an essential part of the process and feel satisfied with the job (Al-Tabbaa,
Ankrah and Zahoor, 2019). This can benefit the organisation because then they will perform their
job in a better manner and behaves good with the people home they are treating. Second
management solution for the care home management can be the obsession over continuous
quality improvement which means that the leaders should not stop their improvements whatever
they are doing with the people in the institution they must enhance their quality so that the
people who are living in the organisation can feel satisfied with the treatment they are doing with
them either physically or mentally. Third management solution for the care home management is
to provide continuous skill building and team Centre goals and values which means that whether
employers for the people who are living in the institution, all must be provided with the skill
development event so that they can be comfortable with the group and as an individual as well.
4th management solution for the care home management is the rendering of consistent and
informal feedback with the formal feedback which means that everyone in the institution at the
employees or employers are the people living in the institution must be given the feedback about
the performance they are giving to the organisation either it can be in the informal feedback for
formal feedback but it should be the instant feedback so that they can improve timely without
any delay (Eden, Nielsen and Verbeke, 2020). There are basically three strategic management
styles with the care home management can adopt for the better functionality of which
organisation. First is the autocratic management style which means that leader will only take the
decision in an organisation on any topic or any concern area. It is of further two types such as
authoritative management style which means that leader is the only authorised one who is
responsible for the accomplishment of the task and persuasive management style which means
that leader is responsible to persuade the people who are working under them in order to make
them work for the organisation. Second is Democratic management styles which means that
leader also gives permission to the subordinates to make some decisions. It is of further 4 types
such as consultative management style which means that employees prefer to consult with the
manager before performing any decision towards the task, participating management style which
means that employees initiate in the decision-making and participate in it to implement in the

group, collaborative management style which means that all the subordinates in the team makes
the unity in the group and makes the decision as per the needs and requirements of each and
every member and coaching management style which means that manager acts as a mentor and
teaches their subordinates that how they can make the decision according to the task given. Third
is the laissez faire management style which means that all the authority and the whole decision
making is in the hands of the employees and leaders responsibility is only to provide the
resources to accomplish the task to the Employees. Which means employees are free to achieve
the task in their own manner by taking their own decisions on a timely basis. All such styles are
adopted as per the situation arise in the institution they cannot be adopted all at the same time it
is always adopted as per the demand of the situation currently in the Institution so that the
circumstances can be handled in an effective manner (Smith and Williams, 2018).
Advantages of fresh management approaches in care home management
There are various advantages of fresh management approaches in care home management
such as first is the creation of better future which means that if strategic management approaches
are adopted by the care home management as suggested above then it can help the organisation
to create a better future and effective decision making for enhanced future considerations. There
is always a difference between reactive and proactive activities. If company adopt the strategic
management then the company will always be on the defensive side instead of offensive side.
Second is the identification of the strategic directions which means that strategic management
helps the organisation to find out the accurate directions in which the organisation is required to
follow and which are strategic in nature because such directions helps in decision making in an
organisation so that they can care the people in a more potential manner by moving onto the
correct directions given by the practices of strategic management in an organisation (Andersson,
Cuervo-Cazurra and Nielsen, 2020). It is essentially and clearly describing the goals and Mission
of the company. The major target of this type of management is to describe the realistic goals
and objectives which has to be in an orderly manner with the mission and vision of the company.
It provides the base for the company which is dependent on the progress that can be measured
and on the basis of employees which has to be compensated for making the strategic directions in
the company. Third is the making of better business decisions which means that in every
business either profit or non-profit business it is important to make the decisions in order to grow
and expand the organisation with better development faces. Therefore, decision making needs to
8
the unity in the group and makes the decision as per the needs and requirements of each and
every member and coaching management style which means that manager acts as a mentor and
teaches their subordinates that how they can make the decision according to the task given. Third
is the laissez faire management style which means that all the authority and the whole decision
making is in the hands of the employees and leaders responsibility is only to provide the
resources to accomplish the task to the Employees. Which means employees are free to achieve
the task in their own manner by taking their own decisions on a timely basis. All such styles are

is always adopted as per the demand of the situation currently in the Institution so that the
circumstances can be handled in an effective manner (Smith and Williams, 2018).
Therefore, decision making needs to

be strategic so that proactive actions can be taken against any obstacles comes in the
management. It is essential to give the knowledge of the difference between a great idea and a
good idea. If the employer and the employee have the clear vision of an organisation lender can
make the pet decisions while consuming less time and energy. And once the organisation is clear
about their ideas then they can easily locate and concentrate on the financial and human
resources available in the organisation and can utilise them in an optimum manner. Fourth is the
business longevity which means that if business adopts the practices of strategic management
then it can gain the stability in the market for the long duration with better goodwill and
reputation in the market. The times are changing fast and there are dynamic changes happening
every day. The market is changing worldwide at a very fast Pace and therefore survival is
problematic for those organisations who do not have perfect and strong base in the market. The
strategic management make sure that organisation has a strong stand in the market and the
specialised person also make sure that an organisation is not only just surviving on the luck but
also having the better chances and opportunities to Grab for dep. Research says that the
industries which are not following the strategic management cannot survive more than 5 years in
the market. Therefore, care home management has the benefit of better surviving in the market
(Gray, 2019).

overall cost of the project, scope of the project, quality required in the project, time duration of
the project, communication required in the project, resources required and any type of risk
related with the project. Resources required and any type of risk related with the project. Cost is
defined as the one of the most essential component which are needed to be concentrated on for
the accomplishment of the project (Truck, 2019). It is important for the project manager to
describe and forecast overall cost of the project in which the project will be achieved. This is
done because extra expenses can be controlled out and everything could be under the budget.
Scope is defined as the another component which helps the project plan in determining and
documenting the scope of the project by describing the goal and the tasks of the project along
with the deadline and cost. Responsibility of the project manager is to conduct the secondary
research so that data can be used efficiently. The major target of this project is to gather the data

essential to have in them such as integrity is one of the quality of the leader which means that
leader should have the integration power in them so that they can handle their team members
collectively in order to maintain the unity among them (Kouzes, 2021). Quality of integrity is
important to avoid the competition among the team members but to encourage them to work
together to achieve a mutual task given to them. Ability to delegate is an another quality of
leader which means that leader should be democratic in nature which means that they should
delegate some roles and responsibilities to the team members so that they can also take the
accountability of decision making and feels powerful in having the part of the team and give
them the opportunity to contribute to accomplish the targets. There are various leadership styles
but it is important for the leader to choose one style for one situation as per the needs and
requirements of the circumstances because one style cannot be kept for the whole leadership
process because it is important to change the style as per the situation arrived for example if
situation demands autocratic then leader has to adapt the autocratic style and if the situation
demands democratic then leader should have to adopt the democratic style. Communication is
also one of the quality of leader which means that leader must allow their team members to
interact with each other not only in the professional or formal manner but also in the informal
manner as well because it defines the motivation level on need of every person to have the
relationship satisfaction which can only come through informal communication therefore free
communication should be allowed by the leader in the team (Kouzes and Posner, 2018). Self-
awareness is also and another quality of leader which means that until and unless the leader
knows about themselves that what are their strengths and weaknesses then only they can guide
that team members to follow up the task and accomplish it. Hence leader must be self-aware of
their own abilities and weaknesses. Learning agility is one of the quality of leader which means
that every leader should motivate themselves and their team members as well to learn more and
more from the task given to them so that this experience and learnings can help them in future
career also. Influencing power is an another quality of leader which means that leader should
have the power of influencing their team members to do the work assigned to them so that it can
be done in an efficient manner. Empathy is also an another quality of leader which means that
leader must understand the problem of the team members and should have the ability to feel their
problem so that it can be solved as soon as possible in order to achieve the targets on time.
Respect is also the one of the quality of leader which means that leader should have the quality

of respecting their team members which means that they should not insult because of their bad
work but instead they should trim that team members to do it better for the next time (Black and
Morrison, 2019).
There are different challenges faced by the leaders with the employees and with the
organisation as well such as first is the dealing with difficult people which means that all the
employees in the team is not same they are different with the backgrounds and education so they
all are required to be handled in a different way and more over the people who are not capable of
doing that task need to be trained in a more efficient manner there for dealing with such type of
people is difficult for the leader in the whole process of the completion of the project. Second is
the pressure on the leader which means that every project has some time boundations to be
completed but if leader knows that as per the time given the project will not be able to complete
then they can have the pressure on themselves in order to complete the project and it cause of the
pressure table pressure is the employees and employees will not be able to complete the task
under the pressure of the leader which is the major challenge for the leader to manage the
employees in such situations (Zorina, Yarullina, Akhmetova and Garipova, 2018). Third is the
letting someone go which means that if there is some urgency for any employee to leave the
project in the middle then it is important for the leader to handle the whole team and handle the
task of that particular person and letting that person go with good terms and conditions which is
a challenge for the leader to overcome but it is important for them to remove such obstacle in a
completing the task given to them. Forth is the delivering of bad news to the team members
which means that no team can perform that task in harmony or in a peaceful manner which
means that some or the other problem will definitely arise in the process of the completion of the
project. Therefore, bad news must be communicated to the team members on time with the
positivity and solution by the team made so that they cannot down their moral and motivation
and continue with the same zeal after hearing the bad news also. This is the most challenging
task for the team leader to communicate with the employees in such a way that they must feel
comfortable in being the part of the team (Western, 2019). V is the staying motivated which
means that initial motivation is easy for the trim leader for their employees but maintaining the
same motivation level till the end of the project is difficult because of the different difficulties
arising in the project can demotivate the employees and can affect the project in a negative
manner that staying motivated of the leader as well as of the employees are important and hence

challenging for the leader. Vi is the culture issues which means that every team member is of
from different cultures and they have their different beliefs and values and therefore to maintain
such diversity in the team and in order to avoid the conflicts among team members in the team,
leader faces the challenging culture issues in solving all such problems (Nader, 2019). Seventh is
the being respected and being liked which means that every member has different in terms of
their nature and behaviour towards each other and it is important to like everyone and to respect
everyone therefore it has proven the challenging activity for the leader to maintain harmony in
the team in order to perform the work in a potential manner. 8th is the communication problem
which means that some employees are hesitate in speaking in front of the leader and therefore
they do not share their problems with them this results in in less effectiveness and the less
efficiency by them in performing their work. Ninth is the Change management which means that
it is important for the leader to deliver any change in the task to their team members and
convincing them to adapt the change with the same zeal they were doing before. Because it is the
nature of the employees that they are usually reluctant in adapting the any kind of change
happening in an organisation because it changes all their work and schedule. Therefore, all such
challenges are important for the leader to overcome in order to accomplish the task and
maintaining the long-term relationships with the employees in an effective efficient and potential
Manner (Vecchiotti, 2018).
CONCLUSION
It is concluded that the exploration of a novice outlook of care home management is
important in order to rectify the mistakes done in the existing management plan in an
organisation. As discussed in the report the existing management plan was creating the problem
in the company while servicing the people and for the operations as well. Therefore, it is required
to explode the strategic management in an organisation in order to implement the new techniques
and methods of management in order to service the people. The entire research is required of the
existing management plan and the new management plan and the difference between them. In
order to implement search concepts in the real world organisations it is important to analyse the
existing management strategies in care home management, it is essential to examine the need for
change in the outlook of care home management, it is necessary to determine the new
