CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is process that is referred as expansion of products, technology, information
and job across the national boarders and cultures (Timmer and et.al., 2015 ). It is helpful terms in
order to improve social life of people in developing and underdeveloped countries by providing
basic products and fulfilling their needs. Therefore, integration of economies, industries and
policy making around the world.
This assignment is based on business operations of Mark & Spenser, it is multinational
retailer brand and engaged in product and services of selling cloths, home products and luxury
food items.
Furthermore, report will cover the number of things as to draw aims and objectives, the
literature review is need to be conducted in order to get the depth description. Thus, data analysis
will be conducted in order to have proper analysis. Lastly recommendation will be given to
evaluate overall impact of globalisation on human resources.
1.1 Research proposal
1. Research project description
Globalisation is term that aids to define the growing interdependences of the world
economies, cultures, population about cross border trade in goods and services ( 5 benefits of
international expansion, 2017). The present report is based on to determine the impact of
components of globalisation on human resource of Mark & Spenser.
This report aids me to get the depth insights about the impact of globalisation on positive
economic and cultural impact on working of enterprise.
2. Aims and objectives to research
AIM-
The aim of report is to analyse "positive economic, cultural and ethical impact of
globalisation on human resources". A case study on Marks and Spencer PLC.
OBJECTIVES-
To articulate the concept and significance of globalisation.
To investigate the positive and negative affect of globalisation on human resources with
regard to positive economic, cultural and ethical etc.

To identify the challenges faced by enterprises with regard to deal with globalisation.
To recommend suggestive measures to promote awareness with cultural activities,
international corporation and positive and global economic independences and.
3. Reason for choosing project-
Globalisation is term that define as growing interdependences of the world’s economies,
cultures and population (Waddell, 2017). Thus, it is process that has both negative and positive
effects. With help of choosing this research report, the researcher can able to get the depth
insight about the impact of globalisation over the working of enterprise. In order to conduct
depth investigation about this topic the researcher can able to take the further investigation.

It provides a framework that consists of various method which is used by scholar in
conducting study in systematic way. It also gives an overview to user about what method are
been used. The methods are described below :-
Research philosophy- It consists of overall framework of study which gives an overview about
nature and type of research conducted. It deals with development, scope of study as part of
investigation. It incorporates in deriving specified way of gathering and analysing information.
Various research philosophies are available like positivism, interpretivism, realism, etc. which
can be used by scholar. Thus, information that deprived with it based on interpreted reason and
logic. Thus, researcher will have the use of interpretive technique.
Research approach- It includes the procedure through which study is conducted in step by step
manner. In this there are certain process mentioned which enables scholar get desired outcomes.
This gives a direction to study on how study has to be done. The three types of research approach
are deductive, inductive and abductive. In order to determine the implication, the researcher will
have the use of inductive approach so that information can be gathered with observation and
theories.
Research strategy- It relates with plan of action that aids to give direction to thoughts and
efforts that enables to conduct research systematically and also aids to have detailed reporting.

In this, researcher will have the use of descriptive technique so that depth information can be
gathered and analysed.
Data collection- It helps in analysing them and generating appropriate results. Data collection is
process of gathering facts from reliable sources and examining it. Thus, this is process that has
divided into two categories as secondary and primary. Thus, researcher will have use of primary
techniques to gather current data.
Data analysis- It is process of analyzing and interpreting data to get desires outcomes. Thus,
there are two method as qualitative and quantitative. In this, researcher will have the use of
qualitative technique.
Sampling- It is a process of selecting sample size from population. Usually, it is done to obtain
specific data from viable participants. It is essential for scholar to select appropriate participants
from population so that valid and reliable information is gathered. Also, scholar should keep in
mind that select sample represents the entire population. Generally, there are two methods
available in this that is probability and non probability. In present report random sampling
method will be used.

Globalisation is termed as exchange of goods and services with another country. Thus,
enhanced global interaction advanced the growth of international trade, ideas and culture. It is
known as global trade in terms of economic, financial and communication integration. This is
helpful in order to carry out the operation in seamless and integrated mode.
2.2 Literature review
Theme 1: Articulation of significance of globalisation.
Globalisation defined as free movement of goods, services and people across the world in
seamless and integrated manner. As per the view of Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault, (2015)
stated that globalisation works as to opening up global economy and aids to enhance trade
between nations. According to the view of Steenkamp, (2019) this is process that aids to bring
international development. Therefore, globalisation drastically change the competitive
marketplace and it also aids to enhanced international productivity and also offer commodities
and services at the lower price rates. In contrary to Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault, (2015) stated
