The report is based on the analysis of the internal and external environment
of an organization named ANZ Bank. ANZ Bank operates in the financial
industry of Australia and New Zealand. The external environment has been
examined with the help of PESTLE analysis and Porter’s five forces structure
that has helped in depicting the opportunities and threats. On the other
hand, the internal environment has been analyzed by implementing the
Resource based view framework that has showed the strengths and
weaknesses. The CEOs of the bank who have contributed to its success have

Introduction
The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited or ANZ Bank is
a multinational banking based organization that has it’s headquarter in
Melbourne, Australia. ANZ is the second biggest bank based on market
capitalisation that is gained in the country. ANZ Bank had been established
in Australia in the year 1951 after the merger of Union Bank of Australia
Limited and Bank of Australasia (Anz.com 2019). The bank is also a part of
the big four banks of Australia that include the Commonwealth Bank,
National Australia Bank (NAB) and Westpac. The Australian operations of the
bank have been able to make the largest part of the business and revenues
gained by ANZ Bank. The report will be built on the analysis of a major CSR
initiative and managerial initiative that has been implemented by bank
(Anz.com 2019). The internal and external environment of the organization
will be analysed with the support of PESTEL framework and Porter’s five
forces framework and the resource based theory. Strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threats will also be examined in the report in a detailed
manner.

A major CSR initiative that has been implemented by ANZ Bank is
based on the proper reduction of the influence of its processes on the
environment. The day to day based operations that are developed by ANZ
Bank are also based on the reduction of energy that is used in the buildings.
The supply chain is also developed with respect to effect that it has on the
environment as a whole. The proactive approach of ANZ Bank is a major part
of the environmental approach that is developed by the firm. The approach
