CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Innovation is defined as the way of translation an idea ideal as well as invention into a
product and service. In addition to this, it is the process of bringing something new at
marketplace in order attract large number of people and develop value for customers. Innovation
plays a significant role in an organisation as it assist in attracting large number of customers
towards brand that leads to increase in customer base level and profitability of company
(Bratton, 2020). It also help an entity to attain competitive advantage at marketplace and
strengthen its market performance in an effective manner. On the other hand, leadership is the
process of motivating, influencing and encouraging people to attain common objectives. It is
analysed that leadership plays a vital role in every organisation as it enhance the productivity and
performance level in an effective manner. Moreover, leadership assist an entity to decline the
deficiency level and achieve objectives within stipulated time period. It is stated that without
leadership, higher authorities and employees did not perform activities properly. For the present
research, Hilton hotel is taken into consideration. It is an American multinational hospitality
company which franchises and managers a wide portfolio of hotels as well as resorts. The
company was established in the year 1919 by Conrad Hilton. The organisation head office is
located in Virginia, United States. The organisation has high market presence as it offer service
in around 50 countries and has more than 6215 hotels and resorts as well. One of the major
strength of company is its 1,69,000 employees who are effective as well as talented in
performing all the task in a proper manner. It is also one of the main reason of its success and
higher growth at marketplace. The present study is conducted in order to gain insight about the
significance of innovation and leadership on an organisational performance. By conducting this
study, researcher will be able to know about concept of leadership and innovation along with its
importance. In addition to this, there is discussion about importance of research that research
methods in a proper manner.
