INTRODUCTION
In every business organisation, personnel’s play a very crucial role in order to make
business successful and effective. In the absence of employees no business organisation can
survive its business activities and function. Organisation requires to develop effective and
appropriate strategies and policies to manage employees in an effective manner so as they can
able to perform their job properly at workplace (Mikolajczyk and Schmid, 2005). Every
organisation needs effective, skilled and capable human resources so as it can attain its
predetermined success with a specific time period. Employees skills and quality defines by their
effective performance. By measuring performance of personnel, manager can take the decision
related to their promotion and increment. Employees skills are that ability and efficiency by use
of that they can effectively attain company’s target. In this project report, employees skills and
ability has been defined with respect of John Lewis. The major objective of this report is to
deeply understand the importance and values of employee’s efficiency and their contribution in
the business enterprise (de Guzman and Choi, 2013).. Furthermore, it various motivational
techniques has been addressed in this report. A systematic resolution process of work based
problems and strategies have been studied with respect of cited venture.

Employee’s skills and ability is very important role play in the business enterprise in order
to attain its predetermined success as well as developed effective productivity. Employees need
to use various methods an criteria to improve their own personality and professionalism. By use
of various methods they can able to increase their efficiency and skills at workplace. In the
context of John Lewis, it main objective is to develop innovative and creative product and
services and increase profitability along with customer satisfaction (Koziolek, 2010). As a sales
executive in the John Lewis organisation I have various responsibilities to manage activities and
business functions so as I can effective perform my duty and responsibility to achieve desired
target. Further more, my main objective is to increase the company’s profitability and
productivity by selling product and services. I have to develop effective quality to attract
customers so as i can increase company’s product sales. Moreover i have also responsibility to
manage my team in an effective manner so as we can collectively achieve company’s target

within a specific time period. I am responsible to coordinate with team members and describe
our objective and target so as they can perform their job. Further as a sales executive of cited
venture i should increase my communication skill, leadership skill, technical and coordination
skill so as i can perform by job and provide effective contribution to company. I am quite good
in time management but i have lack of leadership skill. So that i have unable to coordinate with
many customers at a single time. Therefore i needs to increase my entire personality which could
assist me achieving company goal.
In order to attain performance objective, it is important to adopt the skills and abilities.
Being a sales executive, it is important to make good relations with the clients and customers. In
order to sell products, it is important to make communication with the customers.

As per the above discussion it has been ascertained that i have various responsibility and
role in the John Lewis Corporation through which I can attain its predetermined objective. Cited
venture have main objective to develop innovative product and increase profitability along with
customer satisfaction. For this i have major responsibility to attract large numbers of customers
by selling product and services (de Guzman and Choi, 2013).. Being a sales executive i have
major role top sales maximum product and services in the market and increase company’s
profitability. Further i man also responsible to develop strong brand image in the market by sales
maximum product and services. For the mention objective i have required an effective
communication skill so as i can attract large numbers of customer and explain product features
and quality in front of them (Leung and Whitehead, 1982). Therefore, i need to attend training
and development programs where I can improve my communication skill. With assistance of
training and development program i can learn the criteria of attract the customers in the market.
In addition to this by attend training programs i can also increase my coordination skill at
workplace so as i can manage large numbers of customers at a single time. As a sales executive
of cited venture i also responsible to getting feedback of customers and solve the queries of them
related to product and services (Koziolek, 2010). For this purpose i have to increase my
presentation skill so as i effectively deal with customers. Seminars and workshop program will
assist me in developing such skills. So that i can attain company’s objective in an effective
manner.
