Tourism sector
Tourism in Mauritius is considered as one of the significant component for economic
development. It is a well known source of foreign exchange. Mauritius is appreciated for
natural beauty and manmade attraction. The country has best water sports facility and beautiful
beaches attract people across globe. The tourism sector is controlled by ministry of Tourism and
leisure, The Mauritius Tourism Promoting Authority. They are working in collaboration with the
local body and Tourism Company (Altinay, Paraskevas and Jang, 2015).
The Tourism assets strengthen the economy by backing the resorts and hotels. The hotel industry
in Mauritius is well-recognized and up-grading constantly in order to meet the demand of people.
A majority of resorts and hotels are updated with latest technology. There is an amplified
growth in the tourism sector in the last decade. From past few years, 1 million people travel
Mauritius annually. The tourism sector is one of the third pillars of local tourism. This sector
provides with job facilities to local people. The place is primarily visited by French and British
people. The number of hotels and resorts is increasing day by day creating a wide range of
business opportunities. Tourist arrival has been increasing day by day developing wide range of
opportunities for the localities.
With so much of advancement in the sector, one can see a tremendous development. I have seen
tremendous development in the field arranging effective growth. I personally like the Tourism
field and want to join Tourism Company or wish to own one. This will allow me to gain
effective knowledge and gaining effectiveness. The purpose is to bring innovation in the field by

continuous development. The development in this field will gradually help in gaining
effectiveness.
Brief description of this chosen organization
Concorde Mauritius is one of the most important groups of company in Mauritius managing
tours from more than 4 decades. The purpose of the company is to form strong relationship with
the customers in order carry out tourism activity across the world. The company is providing
with quality “a la carte” services to all customers. In order to guarantee quality work, the
company has maintained an ISO 9001 certification form SGS in Geneva since 2004. They have a
team of young and dynamic people working in order to provide a memorable experience to the
customers. Concorde is also providing with air ticketing services through IATA approved Travel
Agency located in Port Louis. The purpose of Concorde is to contribute constantly in promoting
tourism in the island. They are working closely with the Government authorities and other
tourism association in order to contribute in tourism (Concorder Mauritius, 2017). Concorde is
the founder member of the following organizations:
AIOM (association of Inbound Operators)
ITMA (Incentive Travel meeting Association)
MAITA (Mauritius Association of IATA Travel Agents)
SKAL CLUB (International Association of Travel and Tourism Professionals).

Accommodation
The tourism company is providing tourists with an accommodation facility. They
arrange accommodations for people with different necessities. This is evident that the
brand is equally providing with facilities. The company provides with the best offer to
the tourist across the world. They are present online and one can book hotels through
their website. This facility is important from the point of view of achieving a smooth
stay. This is necessary for managing the effective services and accommodating the needs
in order to gain effectiveness. It is important aspect in terms of gaining competitive
advantage (Khadaroo and Seetanah, 2007). There is an excess competition in the tourism
industry. The purpose is to provide with an effective services in order to gain
competiveness. It is necessary for developing effective competition. Accommodation
