CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
Talent management refers to a constant process which involves attracting, hiring high
quality employees, enhancing their skills and keeps on motivating them to improve their
performance in companies. Talent management focuses on creating and developing enhanced
workforce so that companies can achieve their planned targets on time with higher performance
and sustain in long run(Crowley-Henry and Al Ariss, 2018) . The research project is based on
workplace discrimination which refers to have a discrimination at workplace which is based on
gender, religion, race, colour, disabilities etc. Workplace discrimination occurs when employees
and job candidate is treated unfavourably due to various discrimination factors. It is illegal to
discriminate employees on these factors(Paisey and Paisey, 2018) . The factors creates an impact
on company's efficiency as well as on performance of employees. Research report is based on
workplace discrimination of Maybourne Hotel Group that is a hospitality and hotel company
operates in luxury hotels in London. Maybourne Hotels Group operates in providing legendary
luxury hotels to its customers located in London. The below research project includes literature
review, research methodology, data analysis, recommendations and conclusion along with its
reflection.

RATIONALE OF RESEARCH

The main purpose of carrying out current research investigation is to analyse and explore
various factors of workplace discrimination which affects performance of employees of
Maybourne Hotels Group(Ambrosius, 2018). It provides wide information to research which
helps in enhancing performance of employees in their hotel. This research will support them in
analysing and determining issues and factors accurately. As this research is beneficial for
Maybourne Hotels Group in dealing workplace discrimination and enhancing the performance of
employees in their hotel.
CHAPTER 2 LITERATURE REVIEW
To study the concept of workplace discrimination.
As per the viewpoint of Sarah Benstead, 2018, workplace discrimination refers in making
inequality against employees or job applicants. Workplace discrimination occurs when
employees or job applicants are unfavourably treated in companies due to their age, disability,
national origin, race, skin, religions, gender and genetic information(O’Connor, and Crowley-
Henry, 2019). It is unfavourable and illegal to discriminate based on these characteristics while
hiring and on boarding in workplace. Civil Rights Acts of 1964 defines and makes it unlawful to
discriminate in hiring, discharge, promotion, referral and others factors of employment. As a
result workplace discrimination affects performance and efficiency of companies. In terms of
Maybourne Hotels Group, hotel faces racial and age discrimination against its employees and job
applicants while hiring for their company.
To determine the impact of workplace discrimination of performance of employees.
As per the viewpoint of Kimberlee Leonard,2019, workplace discrimination creates a bad
impact on performance of employees of companies. As discrimination in form of harassment
leads to increase in conflicts in work culture of business companies. Due to workplace
discrimination employee's performance is hampered which affect over all efficiency of
companies. At workplace team members focuses on shifts from job duties to drama of office
which create a inefficient team with others group members (Marinakou and Giousmpasoglou,
2019) . Due to discrimination at workplace employee's morale can be hampered that results in
lack of performance. When discrimination is faced among employees of company it results in
reduced organisational productivity that affects employees performance. In terms of Maybourne
Hotel Group, company is facing discrimination against age and race factors as they mostly prefer
to hire those candidates and who are attractive and young(Scheitle and Corcoran, 2018) . They
